This isn't true anymore.

Out of the last 4 drafts 16 DT were taken in the 1st Round. Only 1 has been a flat out bust (P Jerry)

2 are still to soon to judge (Fairly,Poe) and the rest have either been very solid or had major impact on their teams.

2009 BJ Raji and Ziggy Hood are starters.

2010 (Suh,McCoy) Tyson Alualu and Dan Williams have been solid and Odrick is a beast in the 3-4.

2011 Phil Taylor was dominate for the Browns. Muhammad Wilkerson very good for the Jets. Corey Liuget has been solid for the Chargers.

2012 Flecther Cox was solid and Michael Brockers was good for the Rams.

All those guys are better than Richardson. Definitely bigger.

But even though Dareus(bills) and SUH(lions) are not a bust.....WHAT HUGE IMPACT DID they MAKE MAN??? BILLS STILL SUCK because they don't have qb!! And Lions have a decent QB and still suck..lol

I'm sorry, but I don't see DT as a pp in the NFL. You can always convince me with facts and stats though.

Your posting is just getting progressively worse.

I'm not sure how, but the huddle idiot index has risen this off season.

I think people are selling Richardson a little short around here but I don't feel like arguing that point. But Sly Williams could be a option with a trade down and I still think DB is a option in the 1st 2 rounds as well.

I think this is a valid point, but if you go back to Ellis, Dorsey, etc

The key is finding the right player for the system

Simple

http://espn.go.com/nfl/statistics/team/_/stat/total/position/defense

All the top 4 out of the 5 top defense have good DT play.

1. Pitt - Hampton

3. San fran - Sopauga and Justin Smith

4. Seattle - Red Byrant, Alan Branch, Rocky Benard

5. Chicago - Melton and Paea

Plain simple if you want a top defense you better have good DT play.

Probably your best post i've ever seen. Im still wondering why Alan Branch is still a Free Agent.

Yeah 2008 was a bad year but you can say that for every position. How bad was 2010 for drafting a QB? How bad is this year for drafting a QB? Every position has down years but you will notice people don't stop drafting DT's because it's a important position.

Lets go and sign Alan Branch and call it complete on the Dline.

Hardy, Dwan, Branch, CJ would be NASTY!

Draft:

(1) WR

(2) RG

(4) FS

I still think it's crazy not to take advantage of 1 of the best DT drafts in years. Many teams will find 10 years starters this year.

No way I see Allen going 14th overall. Unless he makes Bailey, Rogers, and Hopkins (all of which will available in the second round) look like chopped liver, it ain't happening.

If he comes out at his pro day and runs a sub 4.5 time he will be a top 15 selection. People forget he was a top 10 prospect till he got injured....
