Keenan Allen to work out with panthers April 9

^^This. Count among those that think he's a solid #3 WR and not a #2. I'd rather take Austin as an eventual successor to #89 and look for a legitimate #2 this year or next.

I will also count you as 1 of the ones who need to keep their mouth close when he has a big game for us this season.

LOL, triple K but he'll have to more than one big game for that to happen. But I'll count on you to do the same when the Panthers pass him up @ #14. He's (Patterson) got potential to be a good WR eventually, but he's too risky to take in the top 20 IMO, especially with a more polished WRs e.g. Tavon Austin, Keenan Allen and DeAndre Hopkins available. Of course, if we don't take a WR in the 1st, this discussion is moot.

Good for you, but you're not Gettleman.

Let you me ask you this, did Patterson literally carry the Vols to a national championship?

Cam =/ Patterson

That doesn't mean he'll reach it. Patterson could just end up being Bowe 2.0.

i think this team needs a bowe 2.0 better than everybody but smitty

This may be true, but McShay says Tavon Austin is the more polished WR of the two. Don't get me wrong; I like Corderrelle Patterson. However, I think you risk too much using a top pick based on potential; your early picks (especially your first round pick) needs to be focused on players that can have an immediate impact, which I believe Austin and a few others will be. The later picks should be used for raw/developmental prospects.

the only knock on patterson is his route running. that can be taught the only problem would come in if he doesnt want to put in the time to learn it. if we get patterson his is the automatic #3 and would be competiting with lafell. he will have an immediate impact as well if we run the same plays we run for him that we would run for austin. austin will only be able to play #3 in this league. patterson can place 1 2 or 3 depending on how dedicate he will be to learning route running. i wonder who will teach him route running oh thats right PROEHL this cannot be underestimated. this guy made his way in the league by perfecting route running and finding spots to get open. he and smitty will pass this on to patterson.

If people can keep stating how much they love him and ignore the warning signs. I can keep stating how much of a mistake I think it will be to draft him that high. Everybody can voice their opinions on here.

Cam had warning signs, thank God we didnt ignore those like everybody said we should

Yeah if we don't take 1 in the 1st all this Lafell bashing (some of you have been on) will turn into a full jump on his nuts movement.

Agree on most of your points, but the questions the team will have to ponder are, how much time will it take for Patterson to develop/improve his route running? Would it not be better to use the 1st for a player that can contribute immediately?
