Keenan Allen to work out with panthers April 9

There are a handful of players I'd feel more comfortable drafting than Allen, but it's really starting to seem like he is the guy we will pick. I had the same feeling around this time when we drafted Cam and Luke. I just hope he can be as big of an impact as those two, but then again those are some big shoes to fill.

Regardless, whoever we pick is going to have a lot of pressure to make as big of an impact as Cam/Luke did.

Look, Im not saying we shouldnt draft a cb. I would love to have a Rhodes, Banks, or Desmond but I think we can live with a group by committee. If we can generate enough pass rush, it would help the secondary a lot.

History has shown that you dont need 1st or 2nd round guys to win a Super Bowl. It would help, but the main reason behind it, is being able to rush the QB.

Take a look:

2013 Baltimore: Cary Williams (7th) and Corey Graham (5th) Do you want to add Reed in there or forget about him.

2012 New York: Ross (1st) and Webster (2nd) KUDOS TO YOU

2011 Green Bay: Tramon (undrafted) and Woodson (1st)

2010 New Orleans: Tracy Porter (2nd) and Jabari Greer (undrafted) Darren Sharper anyone??

2009 Pittsburgh: Ike Taylor (4th) and McFadden (2nd) Troy P anyone??

2008 New York: Madison (2nd) and Webster (2nd) KUDOS TO YOU

2007 Indy: Jason David (4th) and Nick Harper (undrafted) Lets forget Marlin Jackson and Bob Sanders were on this team.

Out of that list, only New York both times had "high round cbs" starting in the Super Bowl for them. But, I could easily still point the finger to their pass rush in the case for them winning both SBs.

The fact that you missed most of these teams had stars in their secondary is crazy.

But what's even worst is the fact you think these teams started the season with these guys and said "it is what it is".

For example Cary williams played well for the Ravens. But I'm pretty sure if Webb didn't get hurt he would be the one they wanted to play.

Point is I don't think none of these teams plan to start there 4th and 5th CB. They didn't start the season with back-ups in starting roles as a plan.

Hands are the "only" thing people take into consideration huh?

I guess we better throw a $60 mil contract at LaFail right now, bc based on some stupid statistic, he has better hands than 89, Julio, and Colston.

DONE.

Jesus Christ. Let me explain the situation to you.

You said " tell me something about Lafell".

I said "well he is a solid number 2 WR has improved every year and has the best "hands" on the team.

Then you got stupid and said "so you think he is better then 89"

Which at no point in this debate did anybody say.

Then you refuse to get off of the dumbass train and still following this path of somebody said Lafell was better then Smith.

Which again nobody did.

Stop being a fuging Moron.

Please don't argue with KKL he is always right never wrong his numbers never lie and everyone else's numbers are always wrong and we're all the idiots compared to KKL he's super smart.

"What's that LaFell has disappeared in several games the past two seasons and he gets shut down by faster, more physical corner backs often and most of hs catches he was pretty wide open to begin with well let me tell you that's wrong LaFell is the best number #2 wr here's my thing about catch percentages with no circumstances listed okay you're dumb if you think LaFell isn't good okay it's all Chud and the offensive line's fault he didn't get more catches LaFell didn't do anything wrong." - KKL, 2013.

Really though idk why people hate on Allen he's the most complete WR

Explosive athlete, he knows how to work against double coverage, he's quick and physical, not "great" but good speed, really good after the catch, great leaping ability, breaks tackles and good at finding spots in the zone. He was considered a top 5 propect before the season but injury and lackluster QB play knocked him down but I'd love him at 14. No doubt in my mind he'd be a good #1 for us. Reminds me oh a better Jordy Nelson

Probably the best Allen highlight video out there.

If it wasn't for his injury history I'd be all for him. We've just had the worst luck with injuries and I'd hate for him to be injured more than he would be on the field. If he can prove to our doctors and our staff that his athleticism and speed is back near where it was and he has a great workout then I would welcome him with open arms.

Lets say he wasn't injured at all and had good QB play at Cal. Where do you think he'd be selected? Would he be top 5 worthy this year? Any pro comparisons?

He's a second round talent (perhaps third with his recent knee injury) but I prefer Rogers.

I also want Rogers (in the 2nd). I think we'd be better off taking another area of need in the first along with Rogers in the 2nd. I doubt it will happen, but it is what I personally hope for.

It's funny that I provide stats (actual stats, numbers you can look up and compare to other numbers) and you provide your opinion and call that stats.

That's the funny poo right there.

Allen is a polished large bodied receiver. He's just slow. He gets fuging run down by linebackers. You aren't going to get large YAC numbers from him in the NFL, but he would be a solid target and has great ball skills.

If it came down to him or Tavon Austin, I'm taking Austin all day long.

Patterson is an over-hyped project player, I wouldn't take him in the first round.
