Ted Ginn joins the Panthers on a one-year deal

Why didn't Naka ever hit the doghouse if fumbling gets you there. Given up game winning plays and missing tackels should get you there as well.

There is not another WR on this roster that is 6'3 has track speed and has actually had a full season of game exp. You tell me who you got?

They also have to cost the price of a 6th round pick.

Psh, most of the defense would have been in the dog house going by that logic.

I think you might have just a tiny bit of bias in regards to Gettis lol. Oh yeah we totally wouldn't want to waste that 6th rounder from 2010 now would we. He's had a hell of a lot more chances than Terrell Mcclain for example ever got, who we drafted in the 3rd round in 2011 and casually cut only one year later.

Yeah the rest of the defense has national writers saying this about them

Hiro Nakamura could stop time. Haruki Nakamura can't stop anyone. He has to be upgraded. The Panthers desperately need safety help.

Really?? He's been hurt for 2 years and played with Clausen but yeah he was given a chance.

And I still don't agree with the McClain move but there had to be something happening off the field for them to cut a 3rd round pick so quick. Again Gettis is still here for some reason. It would be simple to cut him but they haven't.

What are you talking about? Kuechly took on V-Jax and almost made a game changing play. It just so happened that Freeman made a perfect pass and all Luke could do is tackle Jackson and hope he'd drop the pass.

I think he did a fairly good job covering TEs this last season.

Are you serious, he had a safety over top mirroring Vincent the whole way. You would be nuts if you would put Luke on Vincent for 50 plays in one game. Luke would be so down on himself that it would take years to bounce back. One fluke play doesn't prove a point. I am not sold on his coverage skills especially with his slower speed.

Coming out of college, his coverage skills were questionable so for you to put your nickels on him covering Graham, Davis, Zach Miller, Gonzo, Clark, Grokowski, Hernandez and the rest of the boys that we play this year, you are looking to put him on the suicide watch program.

wtf are you smoking? His coverage skills out of college were one of his best assets.

Luke was considered the best cover LBer some scouts had ever seen coming out of college. His 40 time along with his other athletic numbers and testing was right on par with every other stud linebacker in this league. People questioned his athleticism and speed only until he got to the combine. After the combine, he proved to everyone that he was just as much a freak athletically for his size and cemented himself as a blue chip prospect.

Not sure where you get the idea about "his slower speed" and that coming out of college "his coverage skills were questionable." Everything I saw and read said the contrary.

I honestly think he wasn't in game shape or they didn't want to risk re-injuring him since our playoff hopes were quite dim 6 weeks in last year.

Jury is completely out and he needs to prove himself without a doubt, but he hasn't been cut simply because somebody in our office thinks he can help this team out.

Later Armanti. Take Jimmy with you, just don't let him outrun you.

Sounds good!

Ted, welcome to Carolina.

Now earn your paycheck. I'll require 2 Special teams Touchdowns and a top 5 return yard average.

I'll also need 40 catches for 600 yards and 5 TDs on offense.

Never give up on Cam on a busted play. Try to outrun his arm, go ahead and try.

Now get to work!!1!!1!1!!!!!!1!1`1`

Have you lost it? Luke's claim to fame and the reason why he was considered the only ILB that could be taken that high were because of his superb coverage skills in college. He struggled a bit early in the season simply because he's dealing with NFL passers now, but he looked much improved down the stretch and has plenty of room for growth.

Obviously not the same thing as you. I need some of the icky that you have over there because the boy isn't fast enough to cover tight ends with speed and athletic abilities.

His 40 time is right on par or faster than the vast majority of tight ends in this league. Ask yourself who the best cover LBer is in the league, in your opinion, and then go compare their combine and tell me Luke is not fast or athletic enough.

On Bleacher Report. Ranked him as a 3rd round prospect. Interesting that everywhere else I read had him as easy top 15 guy. Oh not to mention he turned out to be the best defensive player in his draft class and nearly single handedly transformed the 27th worst defense in the NFL to a top ten defense.

EDIT: DOPE! Didn't see the title under his name...

He's a tackling machine that is no question but I am not going to put my money on him defending passes on passing downs, you can say what you want but you ain't changing my mind, he is too slow.

So which NFL ILBs do you think are elite in coverage and are just SO much faster than luke?
