Definitley need a DT.. No question.

Honestly I think signing a Ginn, if it happens might Be a sign that WR aint happening no matter who is avail..although we have worked out quite a few..

No, a blind man could see that it is a serious need. With or without Ginn.

So let's say hypothetically speaking that Steve Smith hung up his cleats today. That would leave us with the likes of Lafell, Pilares, Edwards, Gettis, Adams and Ginn (uncofirmed) at WR. None of which would likely ever be capable of being a #1 threat. Boy that sure is a scary receiver corps man, sounds great right!?

Smitty's heir and DT has just been ignored n or had half-assed attempts that havent worked out. Personally I value Austin n would think a WR is a logical pick bc of the retirement clould.

There are plenty of DTs in the pool still and Dwan has not been sought after as of yet.. Free agency is just saturated at the moment.

DTs are pretty underwhelming, even a Gerald Mccoy or Marcel Dareus..good but slow returns.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not discounting our need for a DT. That first round bust rate scares me though.

I think there is little doubt of the threat Austin could create, if he is there can we risk passing the opportunity up? We only have 5 picks mind you.

The problem is their isn't a for sure number 1 wr in this draft. The best WR in this draft could be a slot WR.

We are not a big Slot WR using team. Special with Shula as the OC. We will be moving towards a more traditional offense. Which mean more 2 back sets and less 3 wr sets.

k

Whoever thought a 5'9 wide receiver from Utah would become a #1 threat?

He also was a 3rd round pick. Not a top 15 pick. It's a big difference in getting a big surprise out of a 3rd round pick and needing a top 15 pick to become that.

Beyond that people need to realize that there might not be another 89. Him being as good as he is doesn't happen a lot.

He's who he is because of what's upstairs.

Hey I know you don't want Austin, I've read your posts. I can't change your mind.

I don't want to be put in a category like that. I love Austin I think he is a great play maker for a team that uses a slot WR a lot. But I don't think this team is moving in that direction. Plus I think it's crazy to draft a player thinking he will become 89. Again people I could see another Megatron type player coming along before another Steve Smith. I've never seen a player like him before.
