I guess you mean around Charlotte?? I mainly hunt in SC.

You might want to check out Uwharrie National forest. Huge public tract between charlotte and raleigh.

All the public land in SC is about gone. NC not much better. but I did have some co-workers who used to hunt Uwharrie and they talked like it was a good place to hunt.

There used to be a game land tract up at Gardner Webb and it had some turkeys on it. But not sure if it's still public.

Yeh, I know all about Uwharrie from when I used to go wheelin in my '72 K5 Blazer. Thats where I was thinking of going to hunt, but how is it set up? Don't need blinds or stands for turkey hunting, but do they have them set up where anyone can use them?(For deer hunting mostly). I am still asking around with some friends to see if they know anyone with land out in the boonies that would let me go out and hunt in. And yes, relatively close to Charlotte, I am in the Ballentyne area.

I used to hunt deer and Elk...never did shoot an Elk, but a couple deer. Also hunted bear one year, unsuccessfully.

up here they've made it so damn expensive and difficult to get the guns, licenses, tags, all that crap that I eventually quit hunting altogether. Big thing too is where I live now, there's very little hunting ground available anymore, it's all privately owned.
