I still don't know why this is being discussed when he reported the exact opposite of what Person says.

If you look later in his tweets, it talks about us releasing Williams...

The guy can't make up his mind about which way he wants to go with the story whether is JR releasing him or trading him... This guy is essentially NJPanthersFan in the body of a sports reporter.

we can't release williams I believe because his cap hit that we would need to take would be almost equal to his cap number this year, basically making his release pointless

I think he is reporting Carolina wants to do something with him....

They don't have anything written in stone about a guy like Williams....Panthers probably have several realistic paths to take with him

As a June 1 he creates millionS in cap space both this and next year. We eat some money but that happens

But then you would have to change your username/avatar?

And there's no way he is worth a 3rd LOL

He's still a good RB it's not out of reach to get a third pick from a team in need of a RB. If you see any third round RBs better than Deangelo Williams let me know. It's not like he's in his 30s either or has taken a beating over the past few years since he splits carries.

Yes, a 3rd round RB can play for the next 4-5 years for cheap.....Williams is 30 (will be for the entre 2013 season) and expensive. Williams doesn't have 4-5 more years...

A 3rd round running back won't touch the field. If someone is trying to win a superbowl now like the Packers than Deangelo Williams is well worth a 3rd round pick

If you are looking at a RB for the next 4-5 years....a 3rd rounder > Williams.

Williams is like a 1 yr rental for a team that wants to take all the gambling out of the equation.

Look at the top 5 rushing teams.....you don't just get rushers from the 1st round. Ridley, Morris, Foster...

But you don't run your way to a Superbowl...so it really isn't the missing key. GB's current model works...Williams would be a luxury and they are probably smart enough to know he would be cheaper once cut and they wouldn't have to give up a pick
