since u all confused today, rounds 3-5 are considered mid round picks.

who is confused. some said (including myself) that we wouldn't mind using a 4th or 5th on him. as a true "late rounder" it's a no brainer.

imo, you talk to andrews and watch him at his pro-day and invest a tiny amount if you think there's a chance that he could come anywhere close to 100% of what he was. need or no need. you grab the best talent you can in the draft and don't expect the draft mid-late rounds to be where you fill holes.

you fill holes with FAs and then build the rest of the way by picking the bpa in the draft. you "fill in with unrestricted free agents". (gettleman's words)

confused was directed at him since he thought i said something that someone else did. i've said two things: i would like for us to take him if he is available in the 5th, but i also said a team that is in much better shape may take him as low as the 3rd.

Rayzor, it ain't Gamecock hate that's going to prevent 70% of GMs from consideration. I hope you get that through your thick skull. I don't care about the hyperbolic comparisons of Adrian Peterson or your blind fandom. Marcus won't be drafted by The Panthers and he won't be an elite RB in this league. You better start accepting that.

Jeez, it's like arguing with a bunch of LSU nuthuggers over Matheiu and being a starting CB in the NFL.

Rayzor has already stated that he is a Clemson Tiger fan. I highly doubt any of his endorsements are coming from Gamecock fandom, but common sense.

When you have a player with Lattimore's potential sitting in your lap in the 5th round, you take him 10 times out of 10...regardless of need. It's a pretty easy fuging concept to grasp.

blind fandom? lol you are pretty ridiculous. only one blind here is you.

i and the others say he's a risk. he's worth a flyer. what don't you get about that? he's worth taking a shot on. a gamble.

you're there acting like people are advocating him to be picked up in the first or even second...which would be on the ridiculous side of things at this point. but 4th or later...why not? anyone you sign at that point is a long shot and you might as well take the best prospect. the guy with the highest ceiling. the best player available, which at that point in the draft he very easily could be.

keep on arguing against that, tho. it's quite funny. i just won't be playing with you anymore. i'm done jabbing that blind dog with a stick. it's getting boring.

Further,

Lattimore and Mathieu should never be used in the same sentence.

Its become clear youve got something against Latti.

i think you're right and i would be more comfortable with him in the 5th, but i honestly don't see him lasting beyond the 3rd. someone is going to take a shot on him. before the rookie cap....nah. probably not. but with the cap, you better believe that someone will.

i mean the ravens took mcgahee in the first round and they knew he wasn't even going to be available his rookie year, but at the time they didn't have as many needs. so yea i believe a team with more stability would take him as early as the 3rd

Common sense wouldn't dictate Adrian Peterson comparisons.

Like I've reiterated, thank you merciful god that posters such as yourself aren't in charge. A real draft isn't a mock/fantasy offeseason. Getts drafting an injury free RB instead is a pretty fudging easy concept to grasp too.

And thank God you aren't in charge either.

No, I just have something against amateurs playing armchair GM and proclaiming an injury plagued Lattimore a solution to J-Stew and D-Will as next superstar for Carolina by wasting one of five draft picks on a position that doesn't need any more depth.

Then you have something against yourself too. We have differing opinions, but are both playing 'armchair GM'.
