Oh, goody! Saints sign wide-out Benjamin Watson. We need Rosario

top dawg

I was secretly hoping that we'd consider Ben Watson. But of course the Saints get him, giving Brees yet another big target. Fug man! All the pass catching TEs in our price range are pretty much gone.

I want to be able to run some two-TE sets and give Cam another legitimate target. It would seem to me that Dante Rosario could be had at a bargain basement price, but could have a relatively significant impact in the greater scheme of things when it comes to providing Cam that other target, and keeping defenses honest.

He is a 33 year old TE with no speed. Let's not freak out about this signing please.

Nobody is freaking out. It's not like Brees needs another target to stretch our young secondary. Just because Watson is 33 doesn't make him ineffective. If nothing else he has been consistent in a Browns offense with jokes at QB. If you think that he is going to look like Rip Van Winkle with Drew Brees slinging him the ball, then go right ahead. I don't want our division rivals to gain any strategic pieces to potentially troll our guys. Moreover, Rosario would be a nice piece to not only counter their move, but to counter all the poo our division rivals are doing to improve themselves on defense.

You mean the same dude who walked down Champ Bailey, one of the fastest corners there are and in his prime, from 100 yards away? Oh yeah, no speed.

How long was that ago? Do you honestly think he has the same speed now?? Really??

I hope they have him on the field a lot. That means Sproles or Moore won't be.

browns fans are glad he's gone. allow me to repeat - browns fans are happy for once. let that sink in for a moment.

real talk we should bring the shock back. there's also guys like david thomas, dallas clark, or even randy mcmichael out there.

wouldn't be surprised if we drafted someone with our 4th or 5th tbh.

I am not sure that we need to look beyond our own Practice Squad for a Pass-catching TE. We have a Rosario who had over 1000 yards at UCLA his senior year. 6-5, 230. He ran a 4.62. Jacksonville, however, cut him. I seriously wonder what it is about him that no team liked? He has huge hands and is considered a leaper.

In addition to Rosario, there is Lamont Bryant, listed as a WR after playing TE in college. He too is 6-5, 230. He ran a 4.39 and a 4.5 at his pro day (Morgan St.). He has a 43" vertical.

If it is a pass-catching WR/TE/Hback we need, I am hoping one of these guys steps up.
