Charlotte Worried about stalled talks with Panthers

He's actually left that open even if a team moves, saying that the NFL views LA as a two team city and would be willing to relocate two teams to the LA area if the stadium deal can get worked out.

L.A. Jaguars and the L.A. Panthers. lmao

hadn't heard that yet, talk about the ultimate trump card, sheesh

Raising the long-held league belief that L.A. is a two-team market, Goodell wrote: "Consistent with our long-standing view, we have made it clear that any stadium seeking investment support from the 32 member clubs should preserve a viable option of being able to host two teams at appropriate times and on appropriate terms."

Maybe, but them being a really close and good friend who he trusts that also attends Panther games in the owners box.

You know how close they are? lol

It's almost like JR intentially developed that relationship so he could use it as leverage to extort the city and state for money.

But nahhhh... my beloved JR would never do anything like that.

I've been talking about this for a while now. This is far more important (having a team) than "who will be the third trade for the third round replacement backup after the fifth option on the reserve line backer". Idiots in Raleigh do not understand the value that a NFL team brings to a region . And please don't quote some "study" from a college professor that says it dosen't.

If it actually happens and the Panthers move we will have franchises begging to move here....the good news is we will be free of JR's crappy ownership and might actually have a chance of winning consistently under Panthers v2.0

We wouldn't be the Panthers anymore though. We'd have some new lame ass expansion name/logo. The Panther is a badass team mascot and we have sick colors. The logo was designed after NC/SC. Everything the panthers were intended to be would be thrown away. It would be a very sad day for us fans.

I just can't see us moving. It seems way too much like a sum of all fears for it to happen. Every real Panther fans worst nightmare is for the team to move.

Well, no not personally. It's just mentioned a lot. My guess is they became friends when JR was still the Stadium chairman of the NFL.

However I wouldn't put anything past a smart business owner.

Did they move the Browns name to Baltimore?

Did they move the Colts name to Indy? Did they move the Rams name to St. Louis? Did they move the Cardinals name to AZ? Just as many teams keeping the name than not.

Don't compare us to what happened to the Browns, Browns fans are actually passionate about their team despite their shortcomings.

We havent had a blackout in 12 years....we show up. Maybe win more than 7 games a year and we can work on our passion

In other news, Pat McCory has been a complete train wreck for the interests of Charlotte, sorry I voted for the SOB...I find it hard to believe that the tourism industry he focused on developing to the spite of many a tax payer in Charlotte Meck he now has the audacity to turn his back on.....Now I am truly wondering why I supported this phony getting into office....
