How did it get this bad?

Being a dick is not necessary and neither is starting a thread identical to over half the threads started in the last 36 hours.

I completely agree. However, I think the latter could be due to the fact that the thread starter may have not read previous threads before posting. Being a dick is a deliberate choice. I just think, "Move on if the topic is not to your liking."

The thread is redundant no doubt...but if it bothers folks that much then simply don't read it. Half the post in threads that some might call thread worthy are crap gifs, lame one liners...etc etc. It takes more effort to post a complaint about a thread than it does to simply ignore it.

It's a really good question, and a pretty bad original post.

IMO, and that doesn't mean much, it has to do with overvaluing that RB and LB positions. Not drafting well, and giving up picks to move up to try to save yours (Hurney) and Fox's jobs.

I am drawn to the 2008 draft when we traded up for Otah after selecting a second 1st round running back. The next year we traded up for Brown and the next year we traded a pick to get Edwards. That was just terrible pick management even without getting into the viability of the picks.

People always point to the 2010 "tanking". If we had stuck to our guns with that we would be in great shape right now. I get the Johnson signing (athough still rediculously high) but the Williams, Godfrey, and following year Stewart contracts are killing us. Would we really be that much worse off with neither Stewart of Williams and a better OL situation instead?

This is when I started screaming for Hurney's head. People told me to calm down, people said I had no idea what I was talking about, people said it was Fox, they said it was JR.

These same idiots posted the stupid pic of Hurney with the glasses coming down saying "deal with it".

God he was a terrible GM. Never, ever had a goal, or path, seemed he just went with what felt right, and this is where we are.

Just 3 years ago the 49ers were 27th in total offense and 18th in total defense. They finished 8-8 and were middle of the road at best. They had some key players in place but needed time to become the team they are today.

This doesnt happen overnight. It sucks to not be able to make moves in FA but we are keeping our core and building. Like that 09' 49er team we have key players in place (Cam, Luke, CJ, Olsen, Beason, etc) and we just need time to add a few more key roles to have an explosive team.

Patience young grasshopper.

Am I complaining ? Yes. Why aren't you? You know we won't do poo this year. And they have you blindfolded. We bring knifes to gun fights.

Anyone who has been around for a few years knows I was one of the biggest critics of Richardson in 2010. But for now it is too early. If we haven't picked up anyone before the draft and don't fill our holes through the draft then I will have a whole lot more to say. But honestly, there is no one that has gotten picked up who I would have targeted given our cap issues. We won't be outbidding teams for players and won't be overpaying. There are literally 100s of players available right now and there will be hundreds more once cuts start happening.

I prefer to bring a bazooka to a gun fight but I don't rush in prematurely or just go off half-cocked.
