Biggest question I have is can Ausitn add 20 pounds and keep his speed. I would have like to see him add the weight before the combine but that didnt happen. 174 is to small to play everydown in the NFL without getting injured. While at the time I think he will be a great player. The Panthers would be wise to trade the 14th spot to a team for Austin and pick up a extra 2nd or 3rd round pick.

I'm not surprised. I seen a ton of his games in college and I have NEVER seen a football player with his acceleration, NEVER. You have a guy that can, almost every time, get an extra 3 yards or more on just about ANY catch because of pure acceleration and YAC ability. He's not Megatron big, we've been over this, but if you combine Tavon with Cam's potential breaking out of the pocket at all times, it's going to be a TERROR for the defense. Having someone that can come back in scrambles to bail out Cam with this much YAC ability will be nice. I have also seen him go straight at a defender for that extra yard or two instead of going out of bounds, so IMO he's also pretty tough.

Not to mention the return possibilities. We've been terrible at field position on returns for a while, time to change that up.

Absolutely not. I think Austin could very well be a good player, especially in the right environment, but he doesn't fit what we need. If we go WR early (and I think we should, but in the 2nd), it shouldn't be ANOTHER undersized speedy guy. Most teams have 1 or 2 undersized speedy guys at most to add some variety to their passing game. Our WR corps is dominated by undersized speedy guys.

True. However, we know as good as anyone little doesn't mean everything, if he's good. And he is.

Only reciever I'd take over Austin is Patterson (maybe. Would probably still pick Austin, but I do agree with your point), and honestly I can't see that happening

Our receiving core features Murphy (6'3), Bryant (6'5), Olsen (6'5), Rosario (6'4), LaFell (6'2), Gettis (6'3), Pilares (5'11), Edwards (5'11), Smith (5'9) and Adams (5'9). I don't see undersized WRs dominating anything.

True, but imagine having two smith's when you have no time. I think Cam would be fine with some fixing of the line, later round drafting, etc

Austin is an electric player who could be the player everyone regrets not drafting. The problem I have--can his 175 lbs hold up catching slants and passes over the middle? Imagine Austin on a S or even a nickel CB. 14 is a bit high for him.

While I am not sure that we draft a WR at #14, I do have to wonder what Cam would be with some real threats on offense.

Yeah one dominated and runs a true 4.3 when he played projected top 15.. Adams had a few returns that were on the espys but ran a really avg 40. 4th round pick.

So yeah its a wash.
