Does Anyone Else Have That Feeling?

for the players that need to restructure and aren't...i hope they are content being on a losing team. all talk of pride and feeling good about where they are going flys out the window when they don't cooperate.

gettleman just needs to do more of a house cleaning.

You changed your tune on this rather quickly lol.

We don't have the money to splurge...don't expect anything to be done in the first few weeks. Let the market settle down and grab the solid players left over at a discounted price.

This notion that somehow not getting the best players will lead us to doom is nonsense. The disproportionate level of competition today is not as steep as it used to be. It's not impossible to grab players late in the offseason and have them play at a top level. Teams like the Eagles, Redskins, and Cowboys have employed the same strategy so many of you are inclined to vouch for and have failed hilariously.

It will be a year or two before we can go "splashing"...but until then, we're stuck with the monetary mess Hurney left us.

I think Rivera's job will be extremely difficult to retain after next season.. Gettleman may be setting him up for failure to find his own HC.. Hurney putting us in cap hell gives Gettleman a great scapegoat to achieve this.

Yep, he can sit on Hurney's mess...handicap Rivera for the 3rd straight year (3rd year of the leftover Fox era boys)....

Bad news...and all falls at JR's feet for orchestrating it all. Hurney should of left with Fox....new GM hires new coach and overhauls roster. Instead we get a giant cluster fluck

If I saw Hurney in the grocery store tonight I would run up to him and yell "F*ck you asshole! F*ck sh*t f*ck!!" Then I'd throw some collard greens at him and run out of the store to punch the first person I saw wearing a Saints hat.

Good thing I'm at Great Wolf Lodge with the wife and rug rats.

Let's see how he drafts first. As far as free agency, only about 6 teams were really that active in the first 3 days. There were about just 3 top WRs(gennings is old), a few CB/safeties, a couple of tackles, etc. We didn't miss much.

they aren't obligated to restructure their contracts, but they need to understand that the team getting or not getting the help they need may depend on some of them restructuring their deals and opting not to cooperate might make the season rougher and could end up with them getting cut and finding themselves in the same situation most FAs are this year where they are losing a ton of money. players this year are having to take a lot less than previous years.

i don't think that we'll be going backward, but i also don't see us getting much better next year either. not at this rate. biggest problem is still a HC with poor game management and an OC that has a proven track record of sucking. as far as personnel goes, i pretty much anticipated what has been going on. i expect us to be more active later rather than sooner. i am happy with the quality that is available, but i am getting a little anxious and i know things would progress faster if players would cooperate.

It's just bad decisions all over that lead to this general state, including ownership. Hurney should've left with Fox.

Well it's pretty clear to see why many players got so upset when Hurney was canned. It's a business, most people are just about the money. We went into a panic and overpaid to keep our core, this is what we have to live with now for the time being. As difficult as it may be.
