we are now running through the same situation that we did with hiring coaches a few months back.. Carolina is throwing out 1 year contracts to players and staff because they are probably planning on canning Rivera after his lame duck year [ie. look at Fox]

No one wants to come into a more stressful situation, only to have to re-enter the FA market next year

Meh, we don't have a lot of cap room. So a low one year contract is as good as we can do. It's not like we can impress somebody by offering 6 years at the vet minimum.

As for the 1 year offer to coaches, I thought that was stupid.
