"Smart Money" and what'd you want to see?

Money isnt the problem. We can almost sign anyone we choose to sign.

Denver didnt have a lot of cap, but somehow they ended up with Welker, DRC, Bradley, and Knigton yesterday. Its if Gettleman want to. And all the guys I mentioned above are guys we could get at a really good price.

No we can't. You have to have the cap space...we don't.

You have to created before you sign someone...we don't currently have the room for any big name. Too many holes to blow out tiny cap space on 1 man.

I'm not even asking for Nnamdi. Im asking for Phillips, Roy and Dwan. "cheap guys".

Free Agency Frenzy has ended. There are a bunch load of really good guys still on the market. The "smart money", smart contracts, and bargaining is set to begin shortly. In the next few days, we'll learn if Gettleman can do what we all thought he was brought in here to do. That is, bring in guys on the cheap, fill the needs on this team, and put us in a situation to compete for a Championship.

We're slightly under the cap,but that's not the problem. We can still go after who ever we want to. It's all about "if" we want to. What are some moves that yall would like to see happen in the upcoming days?

Me:

1: Resign Dwan Edwards

2: Sign Kenny Phillips SS

3: Sign Roy Miller DT

I really want to go after a DT (Floyd, Star, Sheldon) at no.14 in April, because we have avoided that position for years. But, I also want the BPA. We're so bad in the secondary and Drayton Florence isnt going to cut it. By retaining Dwan and adding Miller, we'll have a really solid interior to let Kuechly roam the field at ease. In this case, we can take a really good 'corner' (Desmond/Rhodes) at no.14 and a TD guy at 44.

That is pretty solid, but I think I would throw in a big offensive right guard and go with 1 DT in free agency because it is really looking like DT in the first round might happen.

you repeatedly said we could sign anyone we want and money was not an issue.....that is what I disagree with.

You couldn't sign those 3 cheap guys today with our cap space.

Gonna have to see some Gettlemen magic at some point....to date, he hasn't really done diddly.

I also really think that DT will be the pick at 14. I would be happy with it too. But, i want us to be better now, not later. In that thought, I think if we can address two vet DTs and a S through FA, we can solve the Cb, WR and RG all in the draft within our first three picks.

I exaggerated it but I really think we could get all the three guys I mentioned. Some work here and there and it could work.

what is our current cap space? 3.7 or something?

what did a one year deal for Dwan cost us in cap space last year? 4.2?

So give him a long deal....let's say you get all 3 for about a 1 M cap hit each. 700k remaining....and we still have draft picks and bottom of the barrel bodies which will cost millions in cap space. Anderson's space won't be enough for that.

All I am saying is before we sign a name we KNOW.....Gettlemen is going to have to perform some magic with a big contract IMO.

Me too, I'm thinking

1.) Sign Brandon Moore/2-year deal

2.) Resign Dwan Edwards/1-year deal

3.) Sign Cary Williams/2-year deal

I just want to sign Dwan.

Sign Dwan

Pray that Beason and Davis are Healthy (but also sign a low grade FA as a backup)

Address Corner or Saftey in round one of the draft

Rivera should be able to field a top 10 defense if those three things happen

Not happening, but Im sure if we wanted Greg Jennings we could make a play for him

Not sure how much phillips would cost us, but I'd love to get dwan back and sign miller. Get Rhodes or Trufant in the first, Elam or Cyprien in the second, and a OG in the 4th...now THAT would give me some serious optimism for this upcoming season.

I would love that, but what about 'wr'?

Im in the small minority that a major upgrade at WR can wait one more year. I'd rather give Cam more time to throw to decent receivers as opposed to getting roflstomped by defensive lineman while attempting to deliver the ball to the next big thing. Dont want a FA WR, but there are some good 2nd round WR prospects. So if we went in that direction, I wouldn't be upset.
