Is no one else willing to restructure?

I don't think some of your understand what restructuring really means.

Especailly in Beason's case. You tell Jon to restructure or we are going to cut him, he'll laugh in our face. We cut him and have to pay him all the money due to him which is over 16 million. Then he'll go sign somewhere else for a few million more.

We have zero, zero, zero leverage with Beason. He has no reason at all to restructure except out of the kindness of his heart since he's collected so much money and been injured. NOT going to happen.

any panther that doesnt restructure can got to hell in my book

They should walk away from money because our GM was stupid and offered rediculous contracts? Sorry. If I'm a player I'm telling the Panthers to shove a pay cut. The GM, employed by the team, made the god awful deals. Sorry about your luck.

That is incorrect actually.

Jon has already been paid his bonus money, he got that check when he signed his contract.

The bonus is spread out over the cap in numbers, but the actual check has been cashed.

We would save his salary and be forced to count the remaining value of the bonus against our cap: Dead money.

Why don't players just volunteer to play for the vet minimum for the good of the team?

Greedy motherfuggers.

Who here has offered to take a pay cut to better their employer's position, anyone?

Didn't think so.

I have. I willingly took (an offer I made) a 5 buck an hour paycut from 40/hr to 35..as doing so meant I'd keep my job when the company is having financial difficulties and cleaning house in regards to cutting expenses and jobs to keep itself afloat. I chose to keep a job and continue to keep steady income rolling in rather than lose a job and stand in the unemployment line hoping I could get something else.

Not much of a different situation with our team. There is a budget..and some folks are making too much given the constraints at this time. As all of them are already millionaires a few times over..it probably makes no difference to them whether they are cut and don't get picked up elsewhere...likewise a pay cut likely makes little difference either for the same reason.

I was offered a pay cut this year, or the door.

I took the paycut. However I was still going to make more with this company than any other out there.

Some chose the door, they are now looking for work, hoping to make up the difference.

I wish that Beason, DWill, and Gross would take that, but they don't have to, and I don't blame them if they don't want to.

If I were them, and had already made my money, I would not take the pay cut, I would prefer to be cut, and go compete for a title before my career was over. And that ain't gonna happen here for those three.

Tell ya what.

You pay Gross what he is going to turn down in real American Dollars since he is such a bad guy for just wanting to get paid what the team agreed to pay him.

Team paid him to be an elite lt gross has not been playing as an elite lt he should take a pay cut for the better of the team

I'm hardly ever going to fault the player for getting his while he can. If they're happy with their current contract, so be it. Our team was happy at the time they handed it out for better or worse.

I will continue to fault Hurney/GMs/Owners handing out stupid contracts and putting teams in this mess.

but if your truly love being a panther you would do the right things. no one on this forum would care about the amount beason is being paid if he wasnt injured for two years. healthy he would absolutely be worth it. he knows he's been getting paid for nothing for two years. he should atleast atleast take a slight pay cut just to bring in more talent ( a dt which would help make his job easier) which would still benefit him. beason is probably just bitter because luke came in a stole his spotlight.

I'm just saying for Gross and Beason to be 'leaders' they sure aren't showing it, if we had the ability to restructure Cam's contract, he would probably be the first to volunteer cause he wants to WIN. And he understands moves in FA will help that. Tired of everyone being called 'stand up guys' when they're watching the team crumble.

Restructures for cap reasons and salary cuts for cap/performance reasons are TWO entire different things.

Gross, Beason, and Williams need pay CUTS. Those are very difficult.

also, people get mad at me b/c I often say to cut "fan favorities". I am a Panther fan and they run a business. There are examples of teams or players going the extra mile for each other.....but those aren't common. Teams want good play at the right price and players want the most pay they can get to play.

Players will not take paycuts to HELP a team. They will take a pay cut only if that cut still provides them the best opportunity still.

Most resutructures are just math...and players agree b/c they get paid more guranteed. We can't do that with Beason, Gross and Williams. They all already fall in the overpaid club with short or questionable futures in this league.

Williams or Beason isn't going to do anything to help the team....they will only do what helps them. Nothing wrong with that. Reality in the NFL

but I stand by the option, JA shouldn't of been a June 1 cut. I would cut Beason and Williams as June 1 cuts if they didn't take pay cuts. Gross next year.

Beason is too big of a health gamble....and Williams just a luxury at the current rates. Move on and get ready for life with out them now.
