How do we maximize the compensation for Pickles?

Noone is going to trade for him so we want a compensary pick. How do we get that? I guess we will not if we cut him? So we need to let him ride the bench another year and let him walk as a FA.

As he was a 2nd round pick the compensation should be fairly high (a 4th maybe?). As he sucks ___ and never plays it should not. Questions is, does performance really mather? Or are the picks distrubuted on draft status only?

Of course, that is given that someone actaully picks him up. But it should be enough Notre Dame homers out there for that to happen.

i'd rather spend that money on a veteran FA guard willing to take vet minimum.

IT DOESN'T MATTER.

If you're down to playing QB #3, you're screwed anyway.

If you sign Derek Anderson as your backup, your #3 guy isn't important.

The only time we really need to worry about drafting another QB is when we're ready to move on from DA or he's ready to move on from us. Then use a 2nd or 3rd or 4th rounder to draft a guy to develop as your backup.
