Your only saying this because you are one of the most frequent offenders in the duplicate thread award section.

Not to mention you are as fair weather and bandwagon hopping as a fan can get.

we don't need gettleman to make a "splash".

we need him to get the cap in order and fill holes with solid and reasonably priced players for short term deals to get us in a position to do better than last year.

we don't need him to go nuts and overpay in FA. we need him to fix the crap that hurney left. making a splash will likely have a very negative ripple effect on our situation.

we need him to be frugal while he gets things fixed without setting us backward and getting us committed to giant multi-year contracts/commitments to players we'll regret being so tied to.

there's still tons of time left in FA and several waves of FAs to still hit the street before the season starts.

i'm not bullish on the season and i am still not a fan of rivera or shula, but us getting or not getting into the playoffs won't be because we weren't active in the very early stages of FA this year.
