JR hasn't really been the same since his new heart. Its Kinda immature to talk about, but It's seriously something to think about.

What immature about it? So...do you think you would be the same person after having a heart transplant? You would probably go about things a bit differently than before...I would.

It would be immature if we were making fun of him for it, but no one's doing that. It's just being identified as a significant event in JR's life that's probably changed his perspective on how he views things, for right or wrong.

I think it may have given him a greater sense of urgency, but if you ask me, the lockout and his desire to protect his employees spawned more bad decisions on his part than the surgery did. If he was more of a jerk, the franchise would probably be in better shape right now.

I do believe Gettleman is somewhat of a hollow suit. There is a reason young up and comers were not beating down the door (or really interviewed)...I mean we already have a franchise QB. Jerry (to me) wanted a yes man and anyone with youth and huge potential would want control to do things the their way.

I realize this is just one article, but I am sure I can find more. I remember reading about Bill Clinton, one of the slickest and most likeable Presidents in history, submarining his wife's campaign because he was short tempered and prone to outbursts, etc.

This was following his heart surgery. The man who was unflappable throughout his impeachment hearings would all of the sudden get all bitchy over simple questions.

Sounds similar to Jerry's behavior at that press conference...

I wasnt trying to create this post toward you. I have long been saying the same thing. He's clearly have not been the same man he used to be. He fired both his son, this and that, and now you hear about how much profit JR made just last season while earlier asking the city to help out on the renovation.

To some people, it may sound silly. How could you question a man's heart after a major incident? Thats what I meant. Its immature to think in that way. Imagine if it was your mother and father. Wouldn't it be immature asking that question?

But at the end, we all know JR became a greedy old man who's all about MONEY! I just hope he dont move us one day. Dont become an ART MODELL.

It doesn't matter who has come and gone with this team, everything about it and the way it works has stayed the same.

I didn't even know it was an issue of debate with Richardson.

:thumbsu: I did want to point out that there are only 2 things that have stayed the same in our history: training camp at Wofford and Jerry Richardson. And even early in our history there were some big scandals: Collins quitting (I will never, never, ever forgive this) & Carruth murdering.

It's not immature to talk about. In fact, everyone should because no one mentions it at all, although you usually have no choice but surgery. Any heart surgery will change you. Think about it - they have to stop or detour your blood flow for hours from the heart but also from the brain and major organs and extremities. I had my aortic valve replaced in 2007 from a genetic defect. They packed me in ice and totally stopped my blood flow. I now have IBS, afib, night panic attacks, and PAD. But I'm not complaining; I'd be dead without that surgery (my dad died young from it).

And it does change your personality. I talk from experience - I'm a much nicer person now lol :zoro:

Not at all. Like I said, it needs to be talked about because no one does. One "recovers" from the physical surgery, thinking everything is going back to the way it was and it doesn't. Ever. And I think heart surgery survivors don't want to talk about it because they're afraid people will think less of them and what they can accomplish. That some how they are diminished. Which is very far from the truth. It simply takes time.

I was afflicted with PTSD, same as a soldier coming back from war. And I still wake up at night panicked that I'm going to die if I don't get up. Think about it, you die twice during the surgery at least. DIE TWICE. You don't remember it but your body does. I don't know if your total personality changes because you are who you are, the cells in your brain are arranged to be uniquely you. But are they all still there, still working as they did? I thought about things differently, with a different perspective. Inwardly feeling like I had to fight to take back control of my life. Memory was tough at first (I kept a lot of lists). Working out a problem's solution sometimes took longer than it use to. And I was a lot more patient than I ever thought possible.

I could see how JR's firing of his sons may have been a symptom of his recovery. I was much, much younger than he was so I developed more patience. Maybe he thought that he finally could see clearly what he hadn't seen before. Maybe he felt changes were needed because he may not live very long. It's a very uncertain time. One thing is for sure, even if he doesn't admit it, his perspective and his approach has changed. I don't think that before surgery he would have ever gone before TV cameras with a pie chart.

sadly, I don't think the old dinosaur is Luke Kuechly...

His QB comments from early on...make him appear to another poor match for Ron/Cam.
