By the time we are done getting out of cap hell smith, deangelo and gross will be too old to make an impact for us and we will have to rebuild of whole offense once again.

Yup. Our depth is nonexistent and many of our top players are near their end. We basically have to strike GOLD in the next few drafts- not just a few good players early, but major contributors in later rounds as well. It will take a best-case scenario for us to become contenders at any point in the next 5 years.

It should be worth noting that every year there is some poor noob Huddler that makes a thread like this early calling the team out for not patching the horrible bleeding we have at so many positions, and every year the huddle skewers him and says "it's only the first day!!!"

Followed by

"it's only been a week!! Relax!!

Preceding

"it's barely been a month!!"

And the last bastions

"we'll probably sigh all out big free agents just before the season starts!!"

concluded by the final delusional dweebs

"dis ain't madden brah! Good teams don't sign good players! They probably get knocked out in the first round of the playoffs!!"

And every year the Panthers stick to "the plan" and continue to wallow in their shame and ineptitude and don't go spending no dollars no confoundit free agents when we got some good ole decent folk on our own the ole fashioned way at the RB position

And then the panthers miss the playoffs and fans act mad and then Richardson promises real change and sends your PSLs in the mail and then doesn't actually do anything else and the cycle begins anew

Just worth remembering

what did the op say that was really all that shocking? we very well could go 7-9 or 8-8 agian. have we proven that we are anything but a mediocre team and franchise? i want to be optimistic about the season and i will, but i wont be shocked either if we have another mediocre season. i have almost come to expect it. sad really.

Looking like 2010 all over again. The exception being Cam Newton of course, he will win us between 5 to 7 games again next season but wont be able to do much more due to the lack of talent around him, god forbid Cam gets hurt we wouldn't be able to win a single game without him. Here's to another 7-9 at best season.

i"m reserving my feelings about next season until after the draft. Right now it's too early to see what will happen. Once Free agency and the draft are over, you can make a decent attempt to judge the coming season. At the moment it's still to hazy.

But with what little we're doing and the crap we're signing, It's not looking good.
