Panthers cut James Anderson

Davis appears to be recovered, and I for one think Beasons injury's this season were overplayed as an excuse to put him on IR because he wasn't 100% from the Achilles yet.

I hope so. But this move do make me guess if Gettleman and Rivera knows a bit more to Beason's health. Wonder if Beason is doing well in his rehab.

So why the heck wouldn't we make him a June 1 cut if there is no cap savings for cutting him now?

I thought you could designate a limited number of early cuts as June 1st cuts. Is there something to suggest they did not do this?

Gross or Williams is next. Something will happen.

Hope Gross restructures.

Yup, I agree.

Both may be gone. Never know.

I was one who opposed to cutting our own guys like Dwill, Beason, etc throughout the offseason, but now I wouldnt care who Gman gut. Im not going to be emotional and feel too attached to these players anymore. Do what's best for this franchise, and that is cutting who you have to to create space and fill positions where it's needed the most.

Keeping these guys with huge contracts will keep us 2-3 years away from being a Playoffs contender.

I can understand it, take the lumps now and start fresh going forward. I like that we don't pay premiums for mediocrity anymore.

So it is a business after all...no more of these then?

Sucks. JA was another one of my favorite guys. Really good player who also is a really good dude off the field and always took time to engage fans. I don't really get cutting him, he wasn't making a ton of money and at the least would be a "4th starter" as depth. Man, these last few days have been depressing.
