He gave us some good years but as a fan I'm not very happy that he chose to retire after he got cut rather than help out the Panthers.

However, I would have done the same thing as him if my head wasn't it and I didn't have the drive to play anymore

For some people it's all about the money and that's perfectly fine if you manage it well.

I can't believe there is even a bit of hate on Gamble. The guy has been a class act since he got here...and never a distraction and for the CB position that says a lot.

No surprise. He's been battling injuries and he's retiring young enough that he probably doesn't have any serious life-altering ones. Seems like a smart guy and the article on PFT says he was wise with his money. After all the cash Hurney gave him he's definitely set for life.

I think he already qualifies for the pension. I believe you only need 6 accrued seasons to qualify. I'd have to double check though.

This is pretty much best case scenario in my opinion. I've wanted a gamble jersey for a while. Now I can get one and it'll be good for all time.

Going to miss the guy. He probably thought it was time to hang things up. Maybe he didn't want to uproot and move his whole life. He will be missed. Thanks for for playing for us Chris! Enjoy after football life.

Dang, I was hoping that maybe he'd get a look from San Diego, I thought he could've been a good 2-3 year guy and a new vet CB leader. Looks like Gamble is taking the route of another former Buckeye, Robert Smith.

A lot of hating go on up in here, maybe if Gamble retired before we cut him we could have had the full 11 used towards the cap, but I think that since we cut him, he didnt want to play for anyone else, Panther for Life.......
