Working out Deandre Hopkins today

Team works out player.

Fan complains about Huddle's draft mentality.

Expects to be seen as some sort of draft guru

Gets made fun of

Gets mad

Gets banned

Are we witnessing this year's birth of the annual offseason tradition?

Stay tuned

reality is, it doesn't matter if you or me think he is worth the 14th pick. if the guys who are getting paid to do the scouting think he is worth the pick at 14, then so be it. Gettleman is known for his scouting background and if he thinks Hopkins is worth the 14th pick, then he should be worth it

Wish you people would give up on drafting a WR in the first.

We're one sprained ankle away from the following group:

LaFell (possession receiver)

Gettis (late round guy who hasn't played in 2 seasons)

Pilares (hasn't done anything, can't crack the line-up)

Edwards (is Armanti Edwards)

Adams (can't actually catch a football)

Toss Murphy (the ghost of Drew Carter) in there if we re-sign him for minimum wage.

Yeah, we're good.

or a hammy, broken bone etc.

At Smitty's age and with his style of play....you gotta think that him putting in back to back 16 game seasons means odds favor something happening soon

Normally I would agree with you, but for a future WR 1 in a vertical offense I think long speed does matter. It's not the end all be all by any means, but I'd like it better if he was in the high 4.4 or low 4.5.

If he can play then he can play, but for a first rounder I want as few "negatives" as possible and for me that's a negative.

Just started looking him up since his name has popped up

2 other 40 times 4.41 and 4.46, if he's got that speed(good but not elite) good route runner and good hands I'd say take him, speed is not the end all be all for recievers I usually like Good hands and Route running, but if they are slow it can also be a deal breaker

Think about who we have in the secondary and use the same logic.

I'm less concerned about durability and more concerned about longevity, the people on here acting like Smith is just going to continue to be smith need to get a grip.

Smith has clearly lost a step, his advantages now though are experience, his legendary quick first step and being a being the competitor that he is, which will carry him further then most but with that said he's past his peak and clearly on the down swing of his career.

We need to make a serious effort to find a replacement and if not via WR maybe if we can get another baller at TE like Olsen and do the two TE threat like NE.

    • I don't get the Hunter hate. Just imagine his ceiling if he stopped trying to be this 2way freak and focused on one side of the ball
    • 100%.  You have to play the cards that are dealt.  Not the cards you wish were dealt.
    • I'd say its definitely going to be addressed this off-season.  We went into the last draft with a roster of RBs including:  Chubba, Blackshear, and Miles Sanders. We picked Jonathan Brooks in the second and still signed Rashaad Penny afterwards.  Fast forward....One turned into a top 10 back, 1 is injured/out for most if not all the '25 season, 1 retired, 1 will either take a huge paycut or be cut, and the last is a restricted free agent. We brought in Mike Boone as well. Add him to the free agent list also.  We need a physical option.    Which qualifies:  Ashton Jeanty(Boise St): Overall ranked Top 10. Almost 2k yards after contact, 28 tds. Would take our first rounder. My money would be on an NFC East team selecting him. (97.2 PFF run grade) - 121 forced missed tackles.  Omarion Hampton(UNC): Ranked everywhere from 20 - 59 overall. Consensus #2 back after Jeanty. He'll be a second rounder. 1,222 Yards after contact w/ 15 tds.  (90.5 PFF run grade) - 72 forced missed Tackles Kaleb Johnson(Iowa): Ranked from 38 - 69 depending on which media outlet you prefer but generally #3. 2nd/3rd possibly. 1,060 Yards after contact w/ 21 tds.(86.7 PFF run grade)- 66 forced missed tackles Cam Skattebo: Ranked from the 50's - 104. Every mock I do he ends up BPA at some point. 969 Yards after contact w/ 17 tds(92 PFF Run Grade). Probably the best receiving back of the group. 81 forced missed tackles.  If the '24 and '25 draft classes were combined, IMO the rankings would be, in order: Jeanty, Hampton, Brooks, Johnson, Skattebo. I wouldn't take one high but I'd take one for Chubba and Brooks insurance.
