Really? Cuz once Allen gets touched by a DB or LB, it's over 70-80% of the time. I rarely saw Allen fight for extra yards and break tackles in those three Cal games I watched. Keenan, to me, screams possession receiver.

He appears to be a solid second round pick up.

that is bs, one of his strengths is his run after catch ability. dude also was the PR and KR for 3 years ontop of being the #1 WR.

I'm not worried about it. Rogers stayed out of trouble and attended every class at Tennessee Tech. It looks like he learned his lesson.

He had more chances than he should have at UT and could not behave himself. Got to worry about him with some money in his pocket.

Another thing about Allen:

Why the hell does he keep on failing without any DBs touching him, and why does he dive for receptions wayyyyy too early? It's almost as if Allen has no anticipation, footing and balance.

Rogers has the identical type of speed and size that Allen possesses but he's far more athletic and he plays with a mean-streak (fights for the ball and is violent with DBs). It's why I prefer Da'Rick much more than Keenan.

I'll agree with you that Allen and Rogers are comparable but he's not far more athletic than Allen. In fact, I think Rogers is slightly bigger and a little more physical but Allen is the better athlete of the two and a better route runner.

Just curious, which 3 games of Allen did you watch? Not trying to call you out, just wanted to know.

I'd be all over that.

He's the only one who I think is a true #1 in the draft, but I'm also concerned about his red flags. If we're comfortable with his character issues, I would love to see him here.

Not disagreeing with you, but just curious as to why you think Rogers is the only true #1 in the draft?

Also, I would be all for Rogers at 44.

Kenan Allen will be the best WR in this draft. IDK why Patterson is getting so much pub...maybe b/c he fits the burner mold that guys are looking for. But Kenan Allen put up very very good numbers at Cal in an offense with a QB who had a noodle for an arm. If his knee checks out then the guy would be an absolute STEAL at #14. If he had played at UGA, Bama, Southern Cal he would be talked about as a top 5 pick.

IMO his floor is Sidney Rice...his ceiling is AJ Green. His "likely" is Dwayne Bowe. IMO that's worth a pick at #14 ASSUMING his knee checks out.

I just like his fire and rage in tandem with all that athleticism. Such a great combination. Sometimes you get great athletes that are just not competitive enough- this will not be Rogers' problem in the least. I think he's got a little (maybe a lot) of "Smitty juice" in him.

The rest of the top draft prospects are just fair to good NFL wideouts in my view. None of them have the ingredients to be truly special. They just don't stand out or pop for me. Rogers, on the other hand, has that "it" quality that I'm looking for in an NFL caliber wr. If we took him @ 44, it may be high on some draft boards, but I think he will end up being an absolute steal at that spot in hindsight.

Yea I agree. I think that in the end of the day, Rogers will be the best WR in this draft. He just plays like one.

I'm not concern with his off field issue. Heard he did well at Tennessee Tech. He's no Dez or Titus.

I disagree. When I watch Rogers play, I see an athletic specimen. There were several moments in 2011 where he outclassed DBs with pure athleticism -- jumping over defenders to make receptions, making off-balanced one-handed first downs and touchdowns, bouncing off tackles, finding open space and separation, etc.

Da'Rick had a fairly quiet combine but he scored amongst the best against receivers like Patterson, Austin, Hunter and Hopkins and had arguably the best overall performance. Allen is likely the better route-runner but he's not the superior athlete.

USC, Ohio State and Stanford.

Considering the 3 games you saw of Allen, I can somewhat understand your perception of him. He didn't have a ton of explosive plays in those games but that definitely doesn't tell the whole story about him as a player.

If you watched those games you also saw how bad his QB play was. A lot of overthrows and off-target throws in the USC and OSU games. He still showed his run after the catch ability in those games. May not have been for TDs but there were quite a few catches made short of the sticks that he turned them into first downs.

And we're gonna have to agree to disagree on who's the better athlete but I'd be interested to compare their times after Allen's pro day in April.

I'd invite to watch some more footage of Allen as well, starting with the highlights below. Possession receivers don't make plays like this:
