Hartline's deal

The 1 td argument is ridiculous. I watched every second of every dolphins game. He was over thrown on wide open touch downs 4 times last year. Ryan Tannehill was either pressured or just missed him. Hartline is 6'2 200 pounds and runs a 4.4-4.5 40. Hes young, makes highlight catches, and broke the miami dolphins single game yard record last season against Arizona. This is a team that had the marks brothers, oj mcduffie, irving fryar, chris chambers etc. So thats pretty big.

He eclipsed 1k yards last year as a #1 WR, with #1 defenders covering him, with a rookie qb throwing him the ball. The deal is also established to only count about 3-4 mm against the cap this season, and the bulk of the money is paid in the back end of the contract, making the possibility of cutting him after year 3 a possibility if hes not meeting the expectations of his contract.

Its a good deal, he has chemistry with Tannehill, knows the offense, no drama off or on the field, and works hard. Ill take it all day every day.

Justify it how you must, and I'm not saying he is a bad player but in comparison, Smith's last contract was 4 years for $30, and you can't tell me those two guys are in the same ball park. I probably wouldn't have created the thread if we weren't in need of a WR, and possibly using FA to fill that void, and this contract, if used as leverage by other players, won't help our cause.

This isn't really to trash the Phins either, lord knows the silly contract D WIlliams received from us could be mocked this hard too, but didn't seem to hurt the Ravens or Texans when signing Rice and Foster because Foster signed for same while Rice was $10 million less and both are undoubtedly better players.

Inflation dude. Contracts go up every year. Plus the phins have tons of cap room and need WR. It isnt a bad deal.

Smith - 4yr, 16.8 guaranteed

Hartline - 6 yr, 12.5 guaranteed

An aging Smith got the better deal...and that was years ago with guys getting sweeter and sweeter deals each passing year.

The Hartline deal is not in the same conversation as the Williaims one currently is in terms of mock-ability. Carolina has pretty much written the book on overpaying in recent times

He's white? I didn't know that for some reason. Maybe cause I could not care any less about the Dolphins and Buckeyes. Is he like a possession guy or is he a burner?

Who was that sorry Ohio State WR they had for awhile? Robyski?

3 of the most coveted receivers in free agency are white. Welker,Amendola, and Hartline.

No way this has ever happened before.

The guy is young, has obvious chemistry with their QB of the future, and had 1100 yards, I don't think a average of 6 million a year for a reciever is a terrible deal. Even if they get Mike Wallace, this guy will be at least their #2 Wideout and on the field at all times, and he's making less then our backup running back(in a pass first league). We have no room to laugh.

Agree! Hartline had a tremendous season. I was hoping we could somehow bring him here.

Funny how people trash a good player when they're on another team not named their favorite. Miami fans are laughing at us with LaFail as our no.2
