How do you feel, now, after dissing Pep?

you know what's awesome? there's gonna be 20 more threads like this coming. congrats on being the first.

i'm a fan if he's here. i'm not a fan if he took off somewhere else. it's just business and i'm a panthers fan...not an ex-panthers fan (unless they retire a panther and then it's in another category).

he shouldn't have expected us to love the idea that he was rejecting the panthers and the fans (which is what he was doing). i was pissed at first...horrible timing and a crappy way to express his desires, imo, but it's over now. i'm over it. i've been over it.

cheers to all of you who want to try and force feed crow to people. just remember, it could have just as easily gone the other way and until the tender is signed it still isn't 100% settled and even then, it doesn't mean that he will be here long term until that moment that he signs a new multi-year deal.

when pep is back in a panthers uni i hope nothing but success for him because he will be a part of the team. i hope he tears it up and i hope he gets a ring for his efforts. the players are happy about him coming back...that to me is all that matters at this point.

time to move on and get past it. arguing about who was right or wrong does nothing and trying to rub people's faces in it does nothing except for pump up some low self esteems. people take victories however they can get them.

if that wasn't the intent of the OP...cool. i don't know if it is or not. this was more a commentary on all the other threads that are sure to follow.

like i said...it's time to move on and that's what i'm doing. if you're a panthers fan, get on board. we got no time for piss fights. i don't anyway. we got a team to get excited about. only one thing matters...getting that ring.

Yeah, pretty easy to hide behind the "team" mantra after some posters drag a man's name through the mud. A man that has never given any reason for one to question his integrity. All a man wants in the this world is to maximize his potential and get rewarded for it...and for some reason that made Peppers the villain. I'm all for the team and all, but behind our team, there are real people that some of you just spit on at the least rumor or media generated controversy.

Everyone and their brother knows that the whole thing about Peppers "maximizing his potential" is ridiculous. He has all the opportunity in the world to "maximize his potential" as a Panther...and get rewarded for it ($1 million a game).

Do you really think maximizing his potential is what this is all about? Coaching and scheme hasn't kept the man down, he's done that to himself, hell it was his knock in his draft grade.

What the hell are you talking about? Apart from a fluke 2007 who on our defense has EVER done better than Peppers? fatass Jenkins? Maximizing potential is a personal thing. Only Peppers knew how much more he can give to Carolina's scheme under Trgo. The man was offered 60 million in guaranteed money...and he turned it down.

If this man returns to Carolina and has another pro-bowl season, some of you will still act like he's the worst player to ever put on a Panthers uniform. How can you call yourself a fan when you diss a player that wants to leave who you yourself says didn't play up to his potential?

I would think those using the slacking angle on his play would be glad he wanted to leave and graciously anticipate his departure, rather than resort to what that worthless sack of sh*t called Brentson Buckner did

It's pretty simple if your given lemons make lemonade. Pep just found out pretty darn quick the league doesn't find him elite. You can blame the Panthers all you like, but his value is only hampered by his effort. Plain and simple he should have taken the Panthers offer, and it's unlikely he'll get a better long term offer.

My take is he doesn't want to be the man, he wants to do his thing in the background, there's not necessarily anything wrong with that, but it's not what Jerry asked of him, and he can't do it in Charlotte.

The maximizing potential thing is BS..... Otherwise in his current situation he should be open to the new D staff, and scheme.... he has an out why else wouldn't he take it?

I really don't care for the way Pep handled himself this offseason. Between his talks to the press and his unwillingness to at least sign his tender, he hasn't conducted himself in the manner conducive to many of the fans being able to forgive him soon. I don't really care if he says hey'll be there for TC because he knows if he doesn't show up he will hurt his value in the long run, it's merely a selfish act. Now if he signs his tender in the next month and possibly commits to a long term deal then things may be a bit different, but I highly doubt that will happen.

Integrity is more than what you speak, its what you do, and Pep has had a problem of not being true to himself on the field.
