Matt Moore Re-signed by Dolphins

Good for him. Was always a class act.

Agreed. Happy for him. He always came across as a good guy, and Miami is probably a good situation for him.

For the record, yes, I would have been fine with him here as well (though for less than what Miami is paying him).

I would have liked to see him go try to get a starting job, but he obviously likes his role and Miami. Good for him.

I'm actually happy for him that he didn't.

Moore actually plays much better as a guy coming off the bench than he does as an established starter.

That's the cycle. he comes off the bench, plays well, someone says "he should start" and so they start him, and suddenly he starts regressing. Why? Unknown (probably mental) but it happens.

Mind you, he's not the first to fit that profile. Most of the guys who do at some point come to accept that their best option is to be a career backup. That may be what Moore is doing now.

Never understood the Matt Moore love. His best game that most remember him for was a loss to the Patriots. Average back-up QB with no threat to take the next step. Glad he made bank, but whatevs.

He played pretty well in the final stretch of the 2009 season. had some wins that were fun to watch. Steve Mariucci thought he was poised to make a name for himself, but it just wasn't to be.

Yeah, I remember all that, I just never understood how some people can smear Jake and in the same breath speak so fondly of Moore. He won a few meaningless games much like our past 2 seasons and he is regarded by some around here as one of our bright spots at the position.(admittedly that position is not too hard to make oneself stand out with this team.)

I havent seen any love for MM around here other than the one poster who many seemed to think was MM himself.

People seem to have relatively kind words for him NOW...but when he was here, only a select few were willing to say anything remotely positive about him. The mere mention of his name around here a year or two ago resulted in typical insults.

He wasn't a great QB...but he came in when JDH was down and played well against top teams. Granted he didn't show that the following season...but I never understood the disdain for the guy. He was a backup...he did what he was supposed to do...then failed to shine in what everyone considered the lame duck year of Fox. (again as mentioned by another poster...he was a backup thrust into a starter position)

Personally, I wish him the best of luck. 4 million a year to sit on the bench is a sweet deal. Some may think that every NFL player dreams of Superbowl rings and such....but maybe, just maybe...some folks out there are happy to accept their role and make HUGE bank while not risking injury. I'd take 4 million a year to do nothing over 10 million a year to be the guy with all the responsibility and a head on the chopping block each week with ease.

Honestly, I'm surprised he stayed after watching Hard Knocks last year. He was pretty set on becoming starter last year, and was visibility upset when they picked up Garrard. But I can't blame him for getting 4 million a year at backup Qb...
