Percy Harvin to Carolina?

You should do a little research on his condition before you make a statement like that.

Those migraines will put you on your ass quickly.

Again, I am not talking about Harvin complaining....I was talking about fans complaining about him missing time would be annoying.

hell no!

I would counter with why the hell not?

You get a dual threat MVP caliber player. He is a game changer. With a first round pick, you know what you're getting as opposed drafting a WR who may or may not pan out. This also gives us the opportunity to get back into the 3rd round.

Having Harvin would eliminate the need for other players like AE and Pilares.

Percy Harvin, a DT in the 2nd and get a 3rd rounder, I would say that would be a good draft.

Harvin is no 89. He's no MVP

We all know there is no other #89. However, Harvin was an MVP candidate last year. Aside from Calvin Johnson, there wasn't another MVP caliber WR last year.

Harvin is not an elite receiver. He's no deep threat.

My bro in law is a Vikings fan and I watched almost all of his games. He had a spectacular season early on but how? Dump offs and screens. Nothing special.

If we're looking for another slot player, I'd mind as well invest in Tavon at 14. He can actually stretch the field.

Harvin is an elite football player. He could be a nice fit in a creative Cam offense....

No he's not. He's a dynamic player. Sure no.2 receiver. Dont get carry away calling him elite. Hes no Desean Jackson or even Jeremy Maclin. He can't go and be that no.1 guy that runs all the route outside.

He's your kind of guy that you find ways to hide him and give him the ball. Off dump offs and screens. Almost every single ball he caught early on in the season when people were calling him for MVP was all off these short pass plays.

Sure he is...which is why in year 3 he was in MVP talk.

Who cares if he he caught short passes? Why don't you go back and watch agent 89 in 2005....there is a reason he had almost 800 yards in YAC.

Randy Moss was elite and pretty much did one thing. Elite doesn't mean you have to take the top off a D. Harvin is an elite football player....he cant be judged just by standard WR molds. ST ability and his dual threat ability as a runner and receiver. He is limited in the Vikings offense.

That makes him a dynamic player, not elite. He can be your Wes Welker in a Tom Brady offense, but he will never be your kind of guy that run all the tree routes. He cant stand on the outside and beat the opponents best cb week in and week out. He was not limited in Minnesota's offense. He was limiting Minnesota to only certain things they could do with him. And they did him a huge favor by hiding him, dumping off balls to him and letting his athletic ability take over games. Even though, Harvin has some great speed you rarely see the guy stretch the field. Bc he cant. The only way Harvin can take over a game is by hiding him. When you're "elite", you dont need your OC trying to hide you on the field.

Harvin being mentioned as a MVP candidate early on in the season, made me wanna PUKE. If anyone who truly watched Minnesota's games, they wouldve knew he wasnt playing like a MVP. Looking at "stats" (receptions), it did make sense with, but anyone wouldve knew that he didnt even have to try catching those balls. It all came off "dump offs" and "screens". Even AE wouldnt sweat trying to catch those balls all day.

Welker is elite.

if you don't do X....it doesn't mean you aren't elite if you play WR.

Harvin is limited in Minn....he can do much more. They are an Adrian Peterson offense.

And like I said, yeah....Smitty can go deep....but he has the NFL record for most YAC in a season bc he was catching screens and dump offs left and right in 2005. You taking those away from him?

Smitty had a few screens and dump offs but not as many as Harvin in 2012. Thats Harvin's game (dump offs and screens). Smitty was always a deep threat who isnt afraid running whatever route was called for him to run. In 2005, Dan Henning just tried being creative and giving 89 the ball more in different ways. We never had to hide 89 away from the opponents' best cb.

Harvin is a polished out Dexter McCluster. Thats my comparison.
