Ramon Sessions to miss 2-4 weeks with MCL sprain

Recommended Posts

We're not even two years into the rebuild and people are already saying that it's doomed? We cashed in on those assets at the perfect time. Got rid of their contracts and added draft picks. And nobody saying it is just going to click. We are bad on purpose. To add more core players through the draft. Right now we have Kemba, MKG, and possibly Biz (WAAAAAY to early to tell on him. Everyone knew he was going to be a long term project).

At this point in OKC's rebuild, Kevin Durant was looking like Kevin Durant, but neither Westbrook or Ibaka looked all that special. Obviously, we don't have Durant (and will never have a Durant), but our core is not looking too shabby either. Kemba is really looking good, MKG is looking very promising, and Biz still has a long way to go (which was expected) but has the tools to get there. At the end of the second year of their rebuild, OKC had won 23 games.

I think some of you guys are too patient. We shouldn't have to wait 5-7 years to win 30 or 35 games. It is also not too way early to judge Biyombo. He's about to finish his 2nd year in the league. People wanted Adam Morrison's head on a stick after 6 months, was that because he was supposed to be "NBA-ready?" lol

We have sucked for almost 2 years now, not 5-7 (well, sucked intentionally that is), I would hardly call that too patient. And the goal is not to win 30-35 games, its to win 50 games and go somewhere in the playoffs

And no, 2 years is not enough to judge a young big man prospect. Look at Jermaine Oneal- he sucked for his first 4 years in the NBA before he became an all star. Not that I think Bismack will do that, because he looks awful, but there is still a chance that he figures out how to be a useful player

I saw more promise from O'Neal after a year than I have after 2 years of Biyombo.

Back to the strategy, if the team keeps giving up its few assets, getting draft picks and picking busts, this strategy isn't going to work. You have to hit on guys now. No more "he's a project" type of picks from here on out.

So you want to build a contending team from scratch without making draft picks? Not sure that has been tried yet, so I wont say its impossible.

I'm guessing you want to trade the 1st round pick this year for some overpaid veteran (a la the J-Rich trade a few years back). Who are you looking for, exactly?

LeBron! I'm kidding.

I don't think the Bobcats should trade their first-rounder this year, but they need to get some more talent via free agency and shore up some of the talent they do have.

We have two top-tier pro teams in Charlotte (well, and the Hounds) and their strategies are markedly different.

Panthers: Keep everyone, spend money to hold onto your guys, do next to nothing in FA

Bobcats: Let mostly everyone go, acquire draft picks, build some up, let them go too, do little in FA

Gotta get an infusion of talent STAT. I'd like to see the team finish in the top 20 in attendance sometime, not to mention get back in the playoffs.

Haha, I'm not gonna lie, I dont particularly like the bobcats new strategy (suck for a draft pick) because they are just painful to watch. But unfortunately, the alternative strategy is similar to the Raptors this year- go all out for that 8th seed.

Its not like the bobcats decided to blow up a regular playoff team, they blew up a fringe 7/8 seed and are currently trying to undo years of poor management. When Cho took over, the bobcats were a borderline playoff team with no cap space for a while thanks to big contracts to not only Wallace and Jackson, but guys like Diaw, Diop, and Thomas (not to mention the 1st round pick we still owe Chicago).

They traded the only real assets the team had, Jackson and Wallace, because who else are you gonna trade- Henderson and DJ Augustine? Bottoming out is simply the only was for this team to get really good assets to have a chance of winning in the future. Though is blows watching this team now, hopefully with the next draft pick and a free agent or trade using the cap space they could at least be more entertaining to watch

Bismack was always a 3-5 year project, coming into the NBA he only had a few years of experience playing basketball. The team has been holding him out of scrims for drills and tape experience. He's the hardest working guy on the team and has tons of upside, so I fully expect him to become a 12-10-3 type of player.
