Leaked NFL Documents: While Owner Cried Hardship, Carolina Panthers Had $112 Million Profit Over Two Years

I own my own business and I am in it for the paychecks. Nobody else is sharing my risk.

good for you, guess you give your goods/services for cost and still make a living. most do what they like doing, some prefer to make money while doing it, some don't. people risking millions of dollars compared to people risking thousands, is a little different in why they may do it.

Deadspin's whole "this is embarrassing" claim is based on the 200 million dollar negative cash flow he mentioned during the lockout.

When he mentioned this 200 million dollar negative cash flow, HE WAS TALKING ABOUT ALL THE OWNERS COMBINED.

He was the point man on the CBA negotiations, NOT BECAUSE HIS TEAM WAS STRUGGLING TO MAKE A PROFIT, but because he's a leader among the owners and a tough negotiator who wasn't worried about hurting the players feelings.

This is an example of revisionist history at it's finest, it's pathetic.

The real irony is that this financial report was most likely the report that was presented to the city/state in part to help justify the investment the Panthers were asking for, which exposed it to being leaked. In light of that, I'm sure this report wasn't intended to brag about how much money the Panthers made, LOL.

I do enjoy doing what I do. Yeah Jerry Richardson will always be able to pay his mortgage even if the Panthers go broke tomorrow. I would have to find a real job

I do. I mean we pay for Siemens, MetLife, Google..... All make HUGE profits.

LOL, the Governor made his comments about "no state money for the Panthers" at an event celebrating the relocation of the HQ of a major energy company to NC and this relocation like many others involved financial incentives from the state govt.

Pat Mac is full of poo. I'm a bobcat fan and we all know what he did for their arena as Mayor. Now he wants to play the broke card.

It's fuging renovations you mouth breathers not new business or new infrastructure or new jobs

MetLife is 100s of millions in taxable income ADDED to the state every year.

They aren't hiring 2600 escalator operators

Aren't your PSLs enough skin in the game for the city and the Panthers? The city doesn't need skin in the game bc 70,000 people already do

If sold are you paid back that investment?
