Who do we have that you're so interested in developing? AE was a waste, Murphy has terrible hands, Gettis got healthy and then found himself in the doghouse and could even get reps in garbage time at the end of the season, Adams has a chronic fumbling problem when engaged in his specialty and Smith is old. Pilares barely plays and when he did he got hurt. We have damn near nothing invested in any of them outside of LeFell.

I count LaFell as the one sure thing at WR. I don't care about collecting WR's, I want young guys who show a lot of promise and this draft class is full of them. We have a young, elite QB I'd love to pair with a young, dynamic playmaker he can develop a 5 year history with.

If teams thought the same way then Roddy White and James Jones would have been cut along time ago.

But let's go thru it.

1. Murphy - I don't even know if he'll be on the team.

2. Gettis - Hopefully Rivera realize that his dog house is stupid. Naka should have been there all year.

3. Adams - Tiki was a fumble machine also. Are you really ready to give up on Adams.

4. Pilares - See Adams not enough time or opportunity to make a judgement.

5. Byrant - looked good in TC was kept on the practice squad and has all the talent you want out of a WR.

So again I ask what happens if they don't show all this talent in their 1st 2 years will we have this same "I want a WR" thread again?

Most Championship defense draft and develop their own DT. They don't depend on old ones off the bargin bin.

No we locate the real problems and try to fix those.

We had the 16th passing attack with a bad Oline and a Play caller looking for a HC job.

Hopefully we fixed 1 of those things now we need to work on the other.

I understand we have some other needs, but other than RG and DT I think WR is just as pressing as any other and given the depth and talent in this draft class I think it would be foolish to pass up on it.

Mixed Bag for me.

I love the idea of trading back, who wouldn't. This draft is loaded with value in 2nd and 3rd rounds.

1. Canty is injury problem, would not sign him, don't mind the other two FA's.

2. DT is a major strong category in this draft, but we don't take one.

3. You seem to be all about WR's and DB's in your draft.

4. Oday will be hard pressed to see the field except in RT backup role.

5. Lester cannot put his finger up his butt with both hands. ST player at best.

Please draft a few players over 220 lbs. Huge haul of picks and all small

From what I saw, and continue to see as I re-watch the games on coaches film it's all three.

However, the OL wasn't as bad as a whole as they get pinned for. There were also quite a few times where the pocket was solid, but crowded and Cam just missed the throw and looking at his feet usually tells you why. I also saw a number of passes clunk off of receiver's hands, most notably Murphy...or off his facemask, chest, etc.

The OL was usually one guy losing his battle and starting a ripple effect.

This is an argument you could take to extremes with football with the true "team" nature of the game. If the WR's were better and beating cvg then the OL wouldn't have to hold blocks as long, if Cam was a better, faster decision maker you could say the same, if the OL held their blocks longer then the routes could develop, or Cam could go deeper into his reads, etc.

I just see a wealth of talent at WR and don't want to let it slip by. I'm not saying we sacrifise other needs to load up on WR's, but I do think you take a chance with some young playmakers. It's working very well for Green Bay, New England and a couple others.

I would agree with you if I hadn't heard Steve Smith on the radio. He felt like the problem was more a disconnect from coaching to the roster. And the end of the season seem to prove that. More traditional offense using a under center running game made a better offense as a whole.

I agree with Steve and I've taken a lot of crap for saying I felt like we had most of the talent we need to win. There are some obvious exceptions (Nakamura, Hangartner) but I feel like our biggest problem right now is the coaching.

As for the WR's, I do have to admit I'm excited seeing what Proehl can do as the WR coach and not playing second fiddle to someone else. I do still think we need to try to replace Smith, father time is his biggest adversary.

Switch Hunter for best DT available and I love it. I dont think there is anyway we get Canty and Dwan. Plus Hunter most likely wont be there. Swope may be my favorite WR is this draft like a mix between Smitty and Peyton Hillis. Slay would be a great value and Elam is a stud.

Totally agree with this. Since Jenkins we done little to nothing to develop a young DT. I liked McClain and still don't know what he did to get kicked outta here. I still have some faith in Kerase and Chandler.
