Pat McCrory says there is no money for the stadium.

If this was most anything other than Panthers relevant you all would be against it. :)

I would support public funding for anything that promotes the growth and status of our city and state. In the end that will help job growth, public transportation expansion, attracting top talent. Etc. Like a drive through BBQ/Mexican/Pizza joint with nude waitresses that only serves the food I like and will only serve me.

Its not promoting growth its promoting the status quo.

Mitch Hedberg on the beauty of escalators: "An escalator can never break: it can only become stairs. You would never see an Escalator Temporarily Out Of Order sign, just Escalator Temporarily Stairs. Sorry for the convenience.”

RIP sweet prince

Pat Mccrory is a dick-less, spineless, breast fed, backstabbing, corporate slave in a fuging suit. Like I said, enjoy that increase on your power bill every month. He'll have no problem giving Duke energy what they want, he'll get on his knees for those frauds.

Of course he's going to give Duke Power the rate increase because it helps his pockets. lol He owns over 10,000 dollars in stock and they heavily funded his past two campaigns. Add on the fact that he worked for Duke for nearly 30 years.

In addition to having received generous campaign contributions from Duke Energy (the company, its political action committee, employees, and their families donated over $240,000 to McCrory’s 2008 and 2012 gubernatorial campaigns and to the state Republican Party since he became the party’s nominee, according to a recent report by the liberal advocacy group Progress NC), McCrory worked for the company for 28 years, starting out digging ditches and eventually making his way to a position as senior adviser with Duke’s Business and Economic Development Group before retiring in 2007 to run for governor.

To go even further into that, his team under him in office is comprised of past Duke employees that consider Duke Chairman Bill Lee a mentor. The Duke hike is a done deal, it was when Mccory was elected.

It's a complete conflict of interest and if it does pass he should be kicked out of office as far as I'm concerned. It's also a complete sham that the State doesn't have the money for the Panther stadium upgrades and he knows it.
