Also, to contribute to the thread... The nice thing about the full size nikon bodies is that nikon has been using the same lens mount for a very long time, this means lots of very good, cheap lenses on the used market. A definite plus if youre going to spend money on glass.

I have a Canon 60D with a Canon 50mm 1.4 lens and it's incredible in low light. Larger sensor = better in low light. More expensive glass = better pictures. All depends on what you're willing to spend. My camera and that one lens cost me about a grand. Totally worth it though. Also takes amazing video.

Yeah I got a 60d and grandfather's old Leica lenses. The 50mm/1.4 will make you cry.

Side note, I finally get to take a Lytro for a spin this weekend.
