No to Wallace but you have Albert on your list???? Hypocrite?

Albert prob want more money than Wallace. What makes you think we can afford him?

Having Albert on the list and not Wallace does not make him a hypocrite. They are tow distinctly different scenarios. I will explain, so try and keep up.

He proposed possibly letting Gross go and signing Albert. Thus, Albert's significant salary and cap hit would be offset by the savings from releasing Gross. You just trade the cap of one OT for another younger OT.

If we signed Wallace, you would need about $10M or so a year to get him. You cannot cut another WR and be whole from a cap perspective. The only way that you sign Wallace is to cut a high priced guy like Gamble....and not refill the cupboard in the defensive backfield. Thus, possibly weakening your team.

You understand?

Also.....being a dick is OK when you are correct. You just sound like a know it all prick in that case.

But being a dick when you are clueless.....you just sound like a clueless dick.

First of all, let's talk about the players we have. Let's not go out of our mind assuming Gross will be cut. The chances are not likely that we're going to cut Gross and sign Albert. I could very well say cut 89 and sign Wallace. Get YOUNGER!

Second, Gross isn't going no where. So let's leave it at that, dick.

Never said that Gross was going anywhere....nor do I want him to be released.

My only point was that cutting Gross and bringing in Albert was a little different than a signing of a high priced WR like Wallace.

You pay for one with a cut in the same position. Whereas you would have to pay for the other by cutting and going thin in a different position.

Does that make sense to you, Major Dick.

If we can clear 10 million in cap space this season I think we can bring in Mike Wallace.... (Steve Smith will probably retire after this year lets be honest)

Although I love the Idea of Wallace being on this team. I can't justify paying one guy 10 million when you can get 2-3 other players at a position of need and make your team better that way.

I was looking at it as getting a proven play maker with deadly speed, and using the draft to fill other holes.

Fair enough. Still, going after Wallace will be costly. I'm talking about a bidding war. Besides, he's above average. The price tag he put on himself is not justified, at least not to me. Just don't want all these moves Gettleman is making to be flushed away by acquiring just one player.

With those savings you could look at the Free safety position, with Ron cut, the NT position, Dwan needs to be resigned.

True... but even contenders will have some holes...

I think it would put our offense over the top.

Glenn Dorsey is a player who could prosper in our defense--however, I do not think we are in a position to speculate in free agency this year. I wish I were more familiar with him--anyone have any insights?

With limited resources in free agency, it seems to get players who were not good fits in the system they were in would be the way to shop...however, if he is just a soft, lazy, turd, then the system does not matter.

I think the draft is shaping up for Sheldon Richardson and or Star L. to be there when we pick. I think No WR or CB will be there at a good value. Since I also expect that no OL will be there at #14, it is shaping up to look like DT is the pick--something you and Gettlemen have been suggesting all along.

What do you do if we bring back Dwan? NT or underT? The under tackles are the BPAs, but I have a feeling that we will try to move back and get Williams at NT. Any thoughts?

If we draft Sheldon, then I have no problem with Dwan walking. But Dwan proved his worth at least in the passing downs.

It also depends on what our NT position is looking like. With Ron gone, we are in a huge need of an NT. Fua is just...below average. Kearse is meh. Ron sadly was our best NT and he was average. What NT's are there in the draft that would come in and make an impact? Remember Gettleman and Rivera said they aren't drafting projects early. So with that thought. I don't believe we'll draft a project. The problem is that I believe a lot of these DT's that went to the combine helped themselves to the point that we may not get to choose a top ten prospect.

Moving back and getting more picks would be the ideal situation at the moment. But who knows what happens between march and April. We could sign a vet NT/UT. Then focus on other areas in the draft. Here's hoping it all works out.

I think we would keep Richardson (assuming we draft him) and Dwan. We need 2, and a rotation is not a bad idea for a rookie and a 32-year old pass rusher.

A stud NT would be nice, and I think we need a veteran. Between Fua and Kearse, I think we could have a good NT rotation this year--they take time to develop. Never been a Fua fan, but I have heard Rivera and Kalil sing his praises. Maybe.....
