Alex Smith Traded To The Chiefs (How This Could Effect The Panthers Draft)

I have never heard of a team EVER having that many picks. I think they will be looking to trade up if they find someone they really like. Otherwise I could actually see them trading back and stockpiling more. That franchise is fuging legit.

3-5 years ago they were an embarrassment, just shows how quickly things can change when you bring in people that are strong at the top.

He's a slight upgrade over Cassel. Given that they have Reid there and the offense they'll likely run with Charles/Draughn & Co., it could be ok but they gave up way too much imo. An overall decent move but the trade is bad.

Panthers55 are you his agent or something?

I don't think Alex Smith is a terrible QB but let's not just completely forget the first 5 years of his career..

Funny!!! If he were not going to Reid in KC I wouldn't be thinking he will be good. He isn't the kind of guy who can prosper in any system. he has to have a system which maximizes his skill set. I just think that Reid knows how to do that.

The 9ers having 15 picks (or whatever ridiculous number it is) is actually too many, especially for a team stacked with talent and little holes. You'd end up cutting half of them anyway (even some of them that look promising). Given that their first pick isn't until 31 their situation just screams "trade up".

By the trade value chart #14 for #31 + #34 is pretty close to a straight up trade (we come out slightly ahead but not by much). I'd take it. Let's make this sh-t happen Gettleman.

and scoop Short + Hopkins? I like =D

Joeckel is the now the sure no.1 pick.

SF could move their 1st/2nd or both 2nd to move up and grab Vaccaro, DT or a WR.

I'd start talking with SF if I'm Gettleman. I'll gladly take both their 2nd rounders. Stock pile the 2nd round for us. Having 34, 44, and 61 (DT, WR, FS).

I like the way you think. We have too many holes for one player at 14 to fix. Would be nice to be able to fill several with that pick instead.
