Question: Trading JStew / DWill does nothing for cap?

If we trade these guys, does it do anything for the cap at all?

I wish I was a cap guru like it seems so many of you guys are :x

edit: I guess I want to know if a trade brings the contract with them.

A trade takes the contract with them, the money yet to be made. But the guaranteed money that we ALREADY paid them that gets split up over the course of the contract, the remainder would count immediately this year, counting for much more against the cap. So to answer the question, trading them DOES do something to the cap: makes it worse.

Yeah, like JawnyBlaze said. It would accelerate the guaranteed money on our end and result in a loss of cap space for this year. It would be a big hit for trading williams and a gigantic hit for trading stewart (because he just signed his contract and a majority of the guaranteed money is still on it.)
