So it's the offseason - Is Jimmy Clausen's career salvageable?

We haven't had a good O-line in years, but please continue.

Not true. Only recently got bad.

Explain what made the 2010 line bad? RBs ran with zero pass threat. Solid line.

Clausen bails with no pressure just like Carr did in HOU. Clausen much worse about it fresh into the league.

You lost me when you started making comparisons to Steve Young...

Nothing against Clausen, but the guy will never be anything more than a second stringer at absolute best.

I think what he is trying to say it. Back in Steve's days in Tampa, fans, and coaches thought the same thing about Steve. That's why they drafted Vinnie.

You have to compare the player and the situation at the time they Steve was traded, not what he turned out to be. My ex-Father in is a big San Fran fan and he was angry as hell that they traded for Steve.

As far as him not dressing for the past 2 seasons has nothing to do with his talent or lack there of. The coaching staff made the decision to dress only 2 QB's and free up space to dress other players. And needless to say due to Cam's durability, it was the right call.
