According to Person we're keeping Williams...

CRA, why is it so hard to understand? How many times do you got to have the situation explained to you? Cutting him this year screws us in the future. Your only rebuttle is "no it'll save us money now and in the future. We have the most expensive backfield dur herp dur herp". You say that even though it's been explained multiple times to you that it WILL NOT save us money in the future. No matter how emotional you are about it, it's not going to change the fact that keeping him another year is better for the cap.

Am I missing something here? Didn't D-Will rush for 210 yards and 2 TDs in his last game?

Keep him if you can do it without sacrificing too many other areas of need and use him like he should be used.

You can't expect a RB that has run in conventional offenses since probably high school to all of a sudden become an option back in the NFL late in his career. I would go as far as saying Adrian Peterson would struggle for a year or two if Minnesota suddenly converted to read option heavy running plays.

Deangelo Williams was a huge part of the winning stretch at the end of last year.

Right now we dont know what Gettleman is thinking and we have a new OC that sounds like he is not gonna follow the Chud formula. We are definitely gonna change things up next year so stopping you know what were gonna do.

Even if Hohn Fox was here and they hired an OC who refused to pass except when down by 2 scores.....there just aren't enough carries to go around for that money. Too costly elsewhere.

With the glass ankles that Stewart has the Panthers would be idiots to cut Williams. Stewart hasn't played a full year in 3 years. Probably hasn't practiced in 4 at least. No way I hang my hat on that.

Even with less carries last year Williams' average yards per carry have been consistent over the years. Consistently high, like 4 yds per carry (estimating in my head, no stat reader here). Put a value on that, I'm sure his agent has. And I'm sure Gettleman has too.

We weren't ground in pound in 2011....

Newton made us the best attack in 2011 bc we had a decent OL.......and RGIII did the same in 2012 for his team. It isn't about the RB when you have a special guy at QB.

Problem in 2012....we short changed our OL. That was more costly than cute Chud. 3/5th weren't starting caliber heading in and them we lost Kalil.

Cam should not have to bare the entire load unless we want to shorten his career.

Washington had a thousand yard rusher in rookie Alfred Morris and still nearly ruined Griffins career in only his first year. If we actually utilize our running backs properly we will have a top rushing attack.

Keeping him at his current deal screws us....what is so hard to understand about that.

Yes, I acknowledge keeping him now and cutting him next year would be slightly better if just looking creating future cap space bc it creates more. So?

I'd rather not have scrubs all over the OL and secondary this year.

About getting better as a team. Cutting him now will create cap space to make moves which we need. Also gets guys in sooner rather than delaying it. More time together also with the new parts.

I am not emotional about it. I don't want to keep players bc they are fan favorites. Williams isn't worth it.....simple and plain. No point paying lots of money for so little work. would have been better to let both walk than sign both.

RBs are easy to find....so it is silly to suggest cutting Williams somehow means we are then putting it all on Cam. Stewart + Tolbert is more than most teams have....and we would still replace Williams.

Griffen's career was nearly ruined bc Washington runs a weakly built QB like he is a physical beast...when who has been injured and is a magnet for contact (dating back to college)

Don't need Williams to have a top ground attack that isn't all on Cam. Cam needs a D, OL, and receiving options more so than stud RBs. Give Cam an OL and receiving targets and my grandma could run for Carolina.

Of course they are easy to find. You know though, as bad as we think our situation is it's entirely possible to make it worse.

I like Stew but I'm not confident he can stay healthy a full season as the primary back.

Griffin may lack the size to absorb hits but any team will be tempting the fate of their QB if overused like that.

I understand and agree with you wanting us to address other positions aswell but whether we cut or keep Williams this year our options are pretty well limited for serious upgrades at those positions. You can send Hurney a thank you card for that.

Nothing knee jerk about overpaying RBs is a bad idea that costs us at other spots......the talk started before we paid both.

It is a about getting better as a team quickest. Sometimes you eat money to do it

agreed. calling it a knee jerk reaction and the other viewpoint "rationale" is a piss-ant response that's not worth responding to.

If you guys want to piss and moan about contracts that have already been handed out then start a thread about it and do it there. Everyone on this board knew that this was going to be a tough offseason.

Don't get amnesia and a sandy vagina now, welcome to last year.
