Jake Delhomme's next starting QB job...

He would have Adrian Peterson, Chester Taylor to help spread out the defense. The Dome would help him instead of hurt him. He is better than all the Quarterbacks on Minnesota's roster. Minnesota does not really have a great WR but they have a lot of good one's in Bobby Wade, Sidney Rice, Darius Reynaud, Percy Harvin, and Bernard Berrian. Plus two good TE's in Jimmy Kleinsasser, and Visanthe Shiancoe.

lmao at the mention of jake and TE's (jk)

this may be another fit. The d is good enough..no receiver though. that is big. for Jake that is huge. You mentioned a speedy rookie who may work out there but its hard to say right now and he has to pass a drug test first. Rice is one of the biggest dissappointments I have seen in awhile..probably thnx to the ol' ball coach. berrian and Wade together make one receiver but that won't help Jake. The running game is not bad at all.

I am going to disagree though. Without a stud WR Jake is simply not going to survive IMO

we are getting good at that LOL

Again I am really looking for something clear and within a year. Collins is the man, Matt would have to break in half to lose the job to Jake, Kurt has at least two years left (thinking Leinart has a little something too not to mention he has already sat behind one vet for awhile)

If you take away the year grace period (a gift)...there is nobody that makes sense except for Washington so far.

why washington...? rem they wanted cutler..they want that big arm there and jake does not have that..plus they want that franchise all star type QB and thats not jake..

When in all actuality, we have Jake Delhomme signed for the rest of his career, so this is an exercise in futility so to speak..

that is all true but at this point I am trying to get a bit liberal with the qualifications as the result of this thread so far is more eye-opening than I anticipated. I was being generous bit so far it makes the most sense unless you think Quinn is a bust and Hasselback will never se the field again.

In those case it would be scrambling for somebody and he would be out of a pool of potentials and not the clear choice. So far I have seen nothing that tells me he would unseat somebody for this year and I don't know why that surprises me as the poorest of all Jake fans but it honestly does.

I can think of at least 10 other QB's I would take right now to start this year and be happy to do so and I don't think anyone else would name their top ten QB's for their team (not panthers) and pick jake anywhere in the mix.

Uhhh... so he can't beat out Tarvaris Jackson, Gus Frerotte and Sage Rosenfels ?

I don't think so, maybe. what are his strengths? How would they fit?

And winning by default is not the best way to promote him.

"Jake could start for that team because all their QB's are terrible" does not say a whole lot positive.

Jake Delhomme could work with Tampa Bay, he is better than all the Quarterback's on that roster. He would have three decent RB's on Cadillac Williams, Earnest Graham, and Derrick Ward. He would have a Brad Hoover type of FB in B.J. Askew. He would have two really good WR in Michael Clayton, Antonio Bryant. Plus a really good TE that plays like a WR in Kellen Winslow, plus another decent TE in Jeremy Stevens. He could probably excel in Tampa.

but its fun and it does prove a point to an extent. Although I must admit that I am legitimately shocked at the attempts to plug him in. It just looks bad. He has a spot built for him here and that is fine. Not all QB's are interchangeable but it is clear to me that he needs help and as long as he is here (the rest of his career) we will have to continue to give it to him in the form of one sacrifice or another.

Maybe not having a big stand our WR could help Jake, because if you noticed in the playoff game against the Cards he would get so zoned in on one particular WR that he would ignore or just forget about his surroundings and force the throw. So maybe having 3 good WR would help him more than having 1 Amazing WR.

that entire offensive line is used to a QB who can move and move well in the pocket (they suck at PP). Those receivers are used to a guy who can adjust as they adjust and hit them on the run. Those RB's are used to shedding blocks as their former QB improvises, and mark Clayton is DONE. The running game is good though and Bryant could be very good. It's plausible. Rival player and all though I doubt he would legitimately get the shot. Would you as the owner or GM of TB go after Jake tomorrow if he hit the waiver wire? Think about your fans.

That is a poor argument on my part but it could factor. He may do well there but I doubt he would ever get the chance to find out.
