I'd love to get Patterson, but at this point I think we'll have to trade up to have a chance. Kyle Long is a solid pick in the second. Not a fan of the next two picks though. The fourth is too early for Devin Taylor, and Robert Lester simply hasn't looked very good, even for a fifth rounder.

Most players draft aren't day 1 starters then later in the year they start

Like Patterson he'll probably be a day 1 starter and we could move Gross to OG and put Long at OT

Edit:

Dude, not to sound like a jerk, but that is an incredibly far-fetched idea. Switching a career tackle to an offensive guard isn't a matter of just putting them somewhere else. The technique is completely different. The amount of athleticism required is 110% different. Gross would have been a long shot to play a guard his rookie year... At this stage in his career? Not a chance.

Last 2 years we had day 1 starters with our 1st 2 picks. And if we pick Patterson there is no guarantee he beats out Lafell for a starting position. He will still have to learn the finer points on being a WR not to mention the playbook . While Lafell would have the head start on both.

Plus people think you can just move Gross to OG are being a little bit Maddenish. He has never played OG and doesn't have the Bulk to play it anyway. Even if you move him to RT (which he really doesn't have the bulk for either) and Bell to guard you have a left side of rookie LT and Amini protecting Cam's blind side. That doesn't sound like a good idea.

    • It must be an early Christmas for JT O'Sullivan having Thielen back so he could put a coal in Thielen's stocking every chance he gets.  Honestly, the biggest surprise is not so much the anticipation. There were those moments here and there last year as well. It's that even that one positive quality he had seemingly vanished his first two games to where it looked like it was all but over, only for it to start coming back some until you get exclamation points all over this game film. And some of those throws were under a lot of duress, something I feel is something new. Finally, those deeper shots are starting to land. Not all of them, but enough that defenses may have to start respecting them. No guarantees whether this will end up as more of anomaly but I certainly hope it isn't. The Green Bay game was a sampler of what BY could be. Against KC, we got a meal. If we could start getting these meals regularly, we might actually have something to work with here.

    • Heels let another team go up 20 on them but this time they complete the comeback. HD never seems to have his team ready but he makes great halftime adjustments. Powell played the majority of the second half and his defense was the difference along with his big three pointer to give the Heels the lead for good. Trimble and Davis were also spectacular. Carolina can’t let Auburn get out to a 20 point lead though, they won’t be able to come back from that.
