The fried pickles at Mac's Speedshop kick ass

I normally just order the pulled pork, cheddar grits, and collards. However, my in-laws were with me and they ordered the meat sampler so I tried a little of everything. I think I even tried those burnt ends you were talking about one time. It was all good. Mac's does a good job.

Funny story. My in-laws decided to move down here from Michigan and the deciding factor was dining at Mac's. They're skinny people too, so to see food influence a life decision was quite entertaining for me.

That was pry the brisket....the beef rib is a giant fred flintstone monstrosity

It's gold on fries like I said, and on burgers. But I can't remember the last time I had a burger there.

Haha man I do that same thing.

It's good to use on the fries because when meat, especially BBQ, is cooked properly you don't need to put sauce on it. Covering meet with things like cheese, butter, and sweet sauces is just a lazy way to disguising how poor the meat is.

Macs is good. However, being someone who lived in the eastern part of NC for a few year man it's still not the best BBQ I've had. No where close.

I was raised on eastern NC que. I am from Wilmington originally and every occasion was either an eastern NC pig pickin' or an oyster roast/shrimp boil. Or both.
