Tavarres King-Wr-Georgia

Okay if the panthers don't go WR in the 1st or 2nd round of the draft, there are a few guys Iike in the later rounds and one is Tavarres King. Yeah you probably have not heard much of him but if you study tape on this guy he will spark your interest. I think King can be a good deep threat option in the later rounds(4th) and it helps that he went against some of the best schools in college. Georgia finished this year with only 2 losses and very close to being in the NC against ND.

Now with the combine still ahead King's draft stock could rise to round 2-3 which wouldn't be good for Panthers because they lack a 3rd rounder if i recall correctly.

Tavarres King's- Measurables-Height-6"0, Weight-192 Exp-5 years(still only 22 years old)

Tavarres King's Stats Split G Rec. Yards Avg. TD Rec./G Yards/G All Games 14 42 950 22.62 9 3.0 67.9

WHEW!!! look at that AVG PER CATCH lol 22.62!!! That's the best avg I've seen out of all WR getting drafted. Now if that's not a deep threat i don't know what one is.....dude almost had a 1000 yards with less than 50 rec. Pretty Good!!

He also impressed at the senior bowl...here is what scouts had to say about him:

King, who measured 6-0, 192 pounds during the Senior Bowl weigh-in Monday morning, showed the stop-start-go elusiveness to consistently make defenders miss and enough straight-line speed to beat them over the top. His fluidity during drills early in practice was also impressive, as he showed the foot quickness and balance to chop his feet and turn quickly. He was also the best at getting off press coverage, something that many of the South receivers struggled to do.

Now for the the Highlights, my trademark, lol... So tell me what you think of this guy and how would you feel if the panthers waited to draft King.....How do you like him as a Nfl prospect?? Say anything you like. lol

i think he's a decent prospect. i would not expect him to come in and average a hof 22.6 a catch number, but i think this could be a decent nfl starter. he can also run routes very well into the middle of the field so he is not as limited as terrance williams.

but for a 4th round pick i guess he would be the best you could get..he's worth a try because newton is desperate for a deep threat. if we could get a guy like this that strecth the field in the 4th i would shout for jjoy.!!

you never know he could blossom into a roddy white type of guy.

okay i understand. but most nfl wr stars or starters are 5'11 to 6'0.....i think this height thing with wr is getting overblown because of megatron. not many tall wr making plays all day as you think.

now saying that newton needs a tall wr is saying that he is not accurate..maybe thats the case. personanlly i would try to get a tall te for newton to throw the ball to like fauria.

my thoughts behind this thread is that gettleman might go big linemen in the first two rounds. dt and og.....so im just throwing king out here as a alternate guy to look at.

dont be surprised if the panthers dont pick a wr in the 1 or 2 rounds lol i know alot of people will be mad but i got a feeling that they just might do something like. lol

lol chuck, stop troliin that man. im just saying king could be a deep threat option but hes underrated to me...unlike aj green was when he came out. im not saying hes the next aj green lol im just saying that it could be the best option in LATER rounds if panthers dont go wr in 1 or 2 rounds. that is all. lol

Double post. I guess I wouldn't mind us taking a look at someone like this, but we already have a long list of mid-late rounds wr talent on this team. we need a star. I hope we find a way to trade down and grab another 2nd round pick. That way we can deal with both o-line, d-line, and wr in the first 2 rounds.

I don't personally think we need to go WR this year. I know that a #1 wr is a need and has been for years to replace Smith but we have too many holes this yr to work on that. I am tired of picking mid round wr's and hoping for a superstar when that is just rare for the position to get late.

Now on KIng, I really like him, he has great speed. He shows good quickness with decent hands. Route running is ok, the effort is there . I wouldn't mind him late but I still want multiple Offensive lineman and secondary early.
