To be fair, Newton has indeed given people some ammo to use against him. He has displayed some immaturity, both in college and in his rookie season. Even his Panther teammates, and Newton himself, would testify to that. But then immaturity's not exactly something that any one race has a monopoly on, is it?

Now, as far as building a more positive image, I'd say he's made quite a bit of progress on that front. Enough that I'm satisfied, for certain. Mind you, there will always be some who never let anyone grow past the mistakes of their youth, and of course rival fans will rag on him for past mistakes forever (so what?)

Bottom Line: My hope is to see him continue the trend of improvement on field next year. I doubt he'll ever be one of those guys who always say the right thing to the media (he has a DavidCarr-ish propensity toward saying things that can be taken the wrong way) but the whole "face of the franchise" thing is secondary. What he does on the field comes first.

Okay, laptop big fuging deal, did you not hear about the Alabama players that stole laptop, and used a credit card fraudulently? They were actually charged with burglary, and will be prosecuted. Cam was not.

And people who "know" football, you mean rednecks who live in trailers? Are those the people you're referring to? Those who are pissed Cam destroyed their college team?

Please tell me this is a fuging troll post, or are you just the daily dose of idiot?

I'm not real concerned with what others have done in college or the trouble they've been in unless it's Panther related.

I'm just telling you what I hear from other football fans that bash Cam with the ammo he's given them.

And no, they don't live in trailer parks but, Cam could have pised them off at sometime by beating their team....I don't know.

I actually like the fact that others out there hate my QB............makes it even sweeter with the W.
