Franchise tag season

....starts today. The rough guesstimate is around 20 teams may use them, most on K/P.

No ones been tagged as of yet. Philly's said no. No one in San Diego seems likely yet. One likely to get tagged: DEN LT Ryan Clady (barring a long term deal).

I'll keep this post updated as tags are named.

BUF - S Jarius Byrd

CHI - DT Henry Melton

CIN - DE Michael Johnson

DAL - DE Anthony Spencer

DEN - OT Ryan Clady

IND - P Pat McAfee

MIA - DT Randy Starks

According to the Palm Beach Post, free agent CB Sean Smith is "preparing" to be franchise tagged, but "rooting strongly against it."

Someone with "intimate knowledge of the team’s thinking" tells Boston Herald columnist Ron Borges the Patriots won't use the franchise tag on free agent Wes Welker.

According to the Cincinnati Enquirer, it would "be a shock" if the Bengals didn't use the franchise tag.

According to the Florida Times Union, "indications are" the Jaguars won't use the franchise tag.

Got all of this information from Rotoworld

Honestly, is the 2009 Panther draft the worse in history?

And I mean NFL history, not just Panther. It is just painfull to think about it.

And that is followed up by the 2010. In which the high point was that Hurney failed to move up to first in the 2nd round to draft Clausen (most likely offering the 1st in 2011 the became Cam).

At least we only have Hardy to resign this or the next off season...

2008 was one of Hurney's worst draft moves.

Instead of Albert, Rice/Forte, a 2008 4th and a first rounder in 2009, we have Stewart sitting on the bench with his massive contract.

Aww the pain. I can't stomach reading this crap. Hurney's draft moves boggle the mind. The E Brown and Armanti moves....,ugh.

And like the guy above you said, can you imagine if Hurney succeeded in trading UP for Clausen? He was trying to do it. Wow, just wow.
