I do feel compassion for the person too, but ultimately that's a terrible choice to make.

4th or 5th suicide attempt in the last 7 years, documented history of drug and alcohol abuse. Live-in boyfriend/father of one of the kids also a substance abuser who committed suicide not long ago...

... I feel bad for the kids because I'm not thinking they've ever been cared for like they should.

Thankfully her parents had been successful in getting her kids taken away from her. Sadly, they will have a very tough life, but at least they are alive.
