Deangelo WIlliams stats since Stewart was drafted

08- 273 carries,1515 yards,5.5 ypc,18 rushing TD's, 0 fumbles

09- 216 carries,1117 yards,5.2 ypc,7 rushing TD'S, 3 fumbles

10- 87 carries, 369 yards, 4.2 ypc, 1 rushing TD, 1 fumble

11-155 carries, 850 yards,5.5 ypc, 7 rushing TD's, 0 fumbles

12-173 carries, 737 yards,4.3 ypc,5 rushing TD'S, 2 fumble

cumlative snaps over this period

904 carries, 4588 yards, 5.1 ypc, 38 rushing TD'S, 6 fumbles and 23.7 carries per TD

Heres Stewarts stats over the same period

08- 184 carries,839 yards,4.6 ypc, 10 rushing TD's. 2 fumbles

09- 221 carries,1133 yards, 5.1 ypc, 10 rushing TD's,3 fumbles

10- 178 carries, 770 yards, 4.3 ypc, 2 rushing TD's, 4 fumbles

11-142 carries, 775 yards, 5.5 ypc, 4 rushing TD's, 1 fumble

12- 93 carries, 336 yards, 3.6 ypc, 1 rushing TD, 1 fumble

cumlative stats

818 carries, 3853 yards,4.7 ypc, 27 rushing TD's, 10 fumbles and 30.1 carries per TD

So with 86 more carries Deangelo has fumbled 4 less times, has 9 more rushing TD's, and is averaging more yards per carry and requires less touches per rushing TD.

*Heres a bonus stat according to PFF, Deangelo has rated higher in pass blocking effiency of any Panther RB since every year for the last 4 years and was ranked 4th overall in the NFL in 12,

It's been well covered before but cutting deangelo this year will count 9.6 million in dead money if cut(can be spread over 2 years). So lets assume we designate him a June 1st cut and spread it the hit evenly over the next 2 years. It will only save us 3.2 million this year and 4.6 ,miilion in 14.For a total of 7.8 million freed up between 13 and 14.

Conversely if we cut him after the season we can do it and immediately save 2.8 million against the cap in 14 without carrying any dead money into 2015. So we only save an additional 2.5 million per year in 13 and 14 by cutting him now.

Basically it boils down to this can we find a player that will be a better contribution to the team at an annual cap hit of 2.5 million over the next 2 years? Of course my answer is no. Lets enjoy him for 1 more year and then move on in 14 unless of course he restructures somehow.

The difference is Stewart's bad feet and ankles.

However 28 has more left on his contract in guaranteed money.

So we have to hope Stewart can somehow stay on the field close to 16 games next season.

Hurney's stupidity sealed Dwill's fate long ago assuming a GM with a brain took over his position.

Common sense says Getts simply has no choice, excluding some miracle renegotiation.

Williams is easily the better RB, but has that stinker of a contract, is older and we have another RB on roster we gave $Texas$ to.

Unless he wants to tear up that contract we need to let him go.

No he isn't.

Both healthy? Last time we saw that was 2011....Stewart was better then, better fit for what we did.

You can argue Stewart will never be healthy. But if Stewart is healthy?! He, at this point int heir careers, is better

The comparison is flawed....

Bc it essentially cherry picks DeAngelo starting from where his career peaked.

Time to move on. Fox is gone.

My God you're going to argue DWill's productivity versus Stewart"s?

We wont mention the fact our idiot HC continued to play Deshaun Foster as to your initial arguement.

Stewart has never been a better back. He's only been younger.

So why did Stewart see the field more in 2011?

Why was he officially benched in 2012?

He is the better back now. Williams isn't the same guy. Just a matter of if he can stay healthy.

Simply saying the comparison used is flawed....

Starting point for one was his peak of his career....vs the other starting point being a rookie year. Williams is a homerun hitter....but he needs a good bit of help at this stage otherwise it is basically a wasted play. Lots of RBs can be homerun hitters. The ones who can make something out of nothing are what you pay for

You can prove that Dwill is the way to go by posting all the useful stat comparison's and logic you want. Nobody wants to hear that Stewart is injury prone and that Dwill is better even though it is the truth. Our offense looked pretty good after Stewart was done. Lets keep it that way. Thank you for posting these FACTS.

Our offense looked better when Stew was healthy in 2011 getting a larger percentage of reps than any RB in the division.....

But lets not talk about that....

Didn't people claim that was arguably one of the top 3 rush attacks in history and the best overall in Panther history?

In 2013, a healthy Stewart > Williams in a Cam offense. Talking about 2008 doesn't mean anything going forward
