fug hawaii dude, spend a tiny bit extra on tickets and go to southeast asia and spend five bucks a night on hostels hanging out with backpackers from all over the world. you'll have the time of your life and spend absurdly little money doing it.

fwiw i went through something similar (i dont know what your exact circumstances are) and ended up selling all my poo and moving to australia because of a bunch of poo going on in my life externally and internally and it was the best decision i ever made. hawaii, southeast asia, whereever you go, just go. you can always move back home later, but this may be the only time you ever get to do something like this. fuging do it

Really can't understand why somebody would want to live at a vacation spot

Lot's of reasons. One of the cool things is being able to make vacation activities into hobbies. Some of my friends got into kite boarding for example. Nice being able to drive or walk 5 minutes to do it. Or diving for your own lobster. And you know the best beach spots that the tourists don't etc.

Personally I would probably go to the islands down South. Would not go to HI. Too expensive.

I had the chance to move to St. Thomas, and didn't a long time ago...something that I wish I had done.

Jobs are the issue, if you are a great bartender, or server you should be able to get something, otherwise they want you to live there before they hire you, and that is a disaster waiting to happen.

where in Australia are you? My girlfriend is probably going to vet school in Sydney or Melbourne in a couple years and I was planning on going with her. Was it difficult at all or is there not much of a transition period there?

If you decide to do it I have assloads of information ranging from flights to itineraries to places to stay to contacts to travel guidebooks to languages and whatever else... if you're considering this for real, feel free to inbox me or we'll discuss it on here and I can load you up with all the comprehensive information you'll ever need (including how to get you some really cheap flights down there)

Thanks dude I appreciate it. I gotta do some major thinking first,

What's funny is I've been thinking if starting to bartender because I have experience as a barista and I was going to ask you about that ha.

it's a difficult industry to get into because most of the jobs are really good and there's more bartenders that need jobs than jobs for bartenders. i recommend bartending school if you can spare the cash. it also happens to be the type of profession you can get jobs on the spot overseas in some of the backpacker towns... incredibly useful skill if you're traveling.

I spent a few days in St Thomas, don't think I would want to live there. Charlotte Amalie had a relatively high crime rate as I recall. St Johns seemed like a much better to live.

    • 6 pages of tuka and Seltzer arguing is actually 97 pages long
    • 100%. And these same people will claim you have an agenda. You can't have it every way. We had the lowest rated defense in the league last year. Statistically the worst ever. By PFF grades (for whatever that's worth- but they are readily accepted, used, and conveyed by most "reputable" sources), the defense was the worst ever. Not only that, PFF rated our receiving corp the worst in football last season. The absolute worst... out of 32 teams. Which is why regardless of the lip service Canales and Morgan paid to the current guys, they knew it would be criminal not to give Bryce more help. People fixating on team stats and not taking these things into context are stupid, plain and simple, and I'm for one thankful they're not running this team (or probably anything for that matter bc they obviously can't discern reality. Again, going back to the eyeball test these Narrative Nancies seem to hate so much, did they not see the windows Bryce was putting balls into? Have the generally not watched much NFL? Please, please show me the film where all these NFL QBs are making throws like this to this point Bryce was "below average" down the stretch compared to them. Bryce made more wow throws in that 3 game stretch of the Bucs, Chiefs, and Eagles than every other QB combined in all the years since since Cam got hurt I genuinely am baffled by people that can watch throws like that and act like it's nothing. I guarantee you Steve Spagnola, Todd Bowles, and and Vic Fangio didn't think it was nothing after watching the little guy torch them with players those teams would be embarrassed to trot out at the skill position players. The national media spent all year making excuses for Mahomes not having elite weapons when he had multiple 1st & 2nd round talents at the skill positions along with future HoFers in Kelce and Hopkins. Bryce wasn't throwing for 300 yards every week with David Moore and Adam Theilen in spite of jaw dropping throws and you want to say the guy played below average. For those people, again, we ain't watching the same sport. And the name calling doesn't change that... The vitriol and projection... it's off the effing charts with these people.
    • "Well you see if you remove this terrible game that terrible game this other terrible game and then focus on these games you'll see he's actually one of the better QB's in the league and he's actually as good as Jayden Daniels". My god this place is delusional. I love it.
