Best Guitar Players Ever....

LOL at Cobain.

SRV

Eddie Van Halen

BB King

Clapton

I tend to migrate to the more soulful, bluesy types since that's the kind I play (badly).

Technical perfection: Eric Johnson.

Then again, I love the big hair stuff too. Lynch is great live, and Nuno Bettencourt from Extreme is pretty awesome too.

Check out Joe Bonamassa if you like the soulful, bluesy, skilled guys

Dimebag Darrell is up there pretty high for me. The solo in Floods, and pretty much anything and everything he ever did was awesome (it's just that solo in Floods is probably his best known solo).

Joe Satriani is a king.

Steve Vai, BB King, Zappa, etc.

That isn't an order, btw. Just listing random guitarists that I would put in the "elite" category.

Kurt Cobain?

Didn't he play the same 3 power chords in every song?

He wasnt even the best guitar player in Nirvana, Said himself that Dave Groel was a better guitar player. lol

Still haven't seen Peter Frampton..... Revolutionized the talk box

Neil Schon of Journey was playing with Santana when he was 15 years old.

Brad Paisley for a country guy is absolutely incredible

Thank goodness I don't have Bwood around to tell me I'm talking out of my pay grade, but I aside from the obvious ones to me like Jimi, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Chuck Berry (although I was told by an experienced player that he ripped off all his stuff from another guy)... I love Lenny Kravitz and Dave Grohl's arrangements. That doesn't necessarily make them the best players, but they're good to me. I also appreciate Jack White's stuff. Very basic from my understanding but still awesome.
