Publix is moving in. They just built one near Tega Cay. Pricing is on the same level as Teets. Not sure if they do the double/triple coupon stuff that my wife enjoys though.

Publix does double store/competitor coupons with manufacturer coupons. Any other questions about Publix i can answer? :D I'm so excited. I'm transferring soon as i can.

Another possibility is Wegmanns. Wegmanns too wants to get into the Mid-Atlantic, but right now their distribution network pretty much limits their southern capabilities to Maryland/NoVa.

Buying Harris Teeter would allow them to grow all over the SE.

Wegmanns are very nice. I would still hate to lose a homegrown fortune 500 company, but Wegmanns wouldn't be so bad.

Ingles are nice. There's one in Kings Mountain, near where I work, it's the biggest damn grocery store I've ever seen!

The pig is is the Kmart of Grocery chains..they have no competetive advantage.

Stores are Bi-Lo-ish with Harris Teeter prices.

I would think its Publix since thet is what Harris Teeter models itself after. It makes the most sense.

Well it's official. Piggly Wiggly has merged with Harris Teeter. The new name of the store will be, you guessed it, Wiggly Teeters.
