What I keep seeing being neglected in this discussion is just how close this would make the side walls to the sidelines in some stadiums... coaches and players would be crammed on the sideline, and if someone is running too fast on their way out of bounds... *smack* right into the wall. Gus Frerotte style.

In addition to this, if you look on an NFL field there isn't a lot of real estate available. Does this mean some teams have to reorganize, remove seats, ect... I really dont know.

I personally think they should use the preseason for at least 1 or 2 years to try out radical changes such as this before they implement on a large scale. If they do something like this they could assess and weigh the decisions via some sort of formal process before screwing an entire season.
